    Some have risked running stuff for years so why stop now , My family have always had running dogs and I intend to keep that going until I can not get out and about

    I thought I'd ask at local shoot if any beating was available and at first everything going fine until he see 2 lurchers in back of me motor and by look on his face I new I had no chance,he even called the farmer when he see me rabbiting few weeks back stating I don't want no dogs running about so put a stop to it, farmer wasn't to pleased and told him where to go and told me to crack on and he even came over and gave me hand to net up and hold dog on one side of a hedge on slip while I stood the other and we had good couple hours taking bolters

    I've just read through it and I think they 2 different laws getting passed as the one about only 2 dogs to be used to flush fox and you need a license for 14 days says nothing about dogs chasing rabbits and the article first posted clearly states any dog chasing and catching a rabbit would be illegal,

    So the Scottish government have made it legal for 16 year olds to change genda "and made it illegal to catch a rabbit "vermin "with a dog . Going to be a lot of poaching going on

    Once you in court the magistrates must abide by the law and sentence you accordingly and if it's a fine and you don't pay your going jail if they full or not . I don't think this is about jo public walking his dog and it chases a bunny but those that go lamping ,ferreting ,it's another way of banning all field sports with running dogs .

    So what about those who clear rabbits for pest control and earn a living from it and a lurcher is a tool of the trade , They will pass it and say it's ok to shoot them like they did with the fox and hare . If Scotland passes it England and Wales will follow in time .

    Like DC as said get a ferret and few nets ,I've got few nets you can have if you can get a ferret ,I'd give you a hob but I'm in Peterborough, Is the dog platts bred ? Sounds like he's the boss and not you ,you need to set some rules set

    Welcome back mate , I always play with pups and I've had lurchers that love tug and play fight and others that scream soon as you touch them wrong way "saluki type"

    Me and my brother was going out one night on a Roman site and me brothers pal came along ,after couple hours we all joined up to see what we got and he said he'd been getting lots of beeps but no finds and no wonder the dafty had steelys on .?

    I got 14 days for not apologizing to magistrates when I got done for contempt of court ,fun y thing is I wasn't even in court but gone to give a pal some support,it nice sunny morning and they lot of people waiting and talking outside and majistrate decided they couldn't hear themselves so got the police to bring us all into court five at a time to say sorry ,yer right as if I'm going to say sorry to you 3 beaks "14 days" take him away and 4 of us got the same ,would I say sorry today of course I would .

    I've never had a problem in 40 something years ,one man one dog and go about your business as quickly and quietly as possible. Terrier men working for well known hunts no they getting watched so they no the risk they taking if they don't work within the law , Right or wrong the law is the law and if we break it we get our collars felt ,
