It’s a shame for these people, because I’m an absolute pleasure to be around ?

Not really, to be honest, I’m just not bothered what other people do or how they choose to live their lives, I’m happy with my life and if other’s like to read what I put up then that’s fine, if they think I’m a tw*t that’s also fine -
My wellies are mucky ( lol ) the right one is cleaner than the left where I drag my gamy foot around

It’s the same up here, it’s a dying past time now, we are all in a certain age range now and many of the people I used to go out with are either dead or have just rapped in or moved on to other things, it’s no good saying that because someone isn’t out every day that they are not proper hunters/shooters it may just be the case that they have other interests or other things they like to do, if we all did the same thing in the same way the world would be a very boring place I don’t do much else apart from shooting but it’s not the only thing in my life, saying that over the last week I’ve -
Can I ask a question, and I don’t mean any offence by this, but how long have you held a FAC, I read your posts and they are chock full of advice for people who spend a lot of time out in the field and what the governing bodies should or shouldn’t do, but I’ve never seen anything that shows me what you are out doing, it’s all well and good commenting on others but if you are not out doing it yourself it’s just an empty statement

If you want a lend of a laser ir to try give me a shout, I’ve got a pbirL that’s not getting used at the moment

I’ve sort of come to the conclusion that I’m not going out with other anymore or inviting anyone out with me, I have enough land to not need to rely on others, so I think it’s the way to go ( am I now a grumpy old man)

Gone old school tonight, reminds me of tapping pints off the old man down the workies when I was a lad

Did you call it in or was it opportunistic, right place right time

Don’t be down sweetheart, I haven’t got round to reading it yet, I will and then I’ll give you my thoughts ? -
The HMR is a very good calibre for close range foxes and that’s was the reason I put a variation in for one and told the FEO that’s what I wanted it for ( I own 2 now ), it doesn’t matter what calibre you use, at some point it isn’t going to go textbook, I’ve quite often left the centrefire’s at home and taken the 17 out foxing, I feel very confident with it out to a suitable distance, if it’s side on I like a head shot, I know some don’t but it works for me, if it’s facing me, centre of the bib is where it’s going, never in its face
-
I know it’s each too there own and if it works for you just keep doing it, but what I found with the SP’s out of the.243 especially at relatively close range is they go in and out ( when the fox is side on ) where as the sako 70gn BT’s I use tend to put a fist size hole in them, saying that I’m using 90gn SP’s at the minute because I can’t get holed of the BT’s and they are doing the job just fine

Have you seen the home office report into the Plymouth shooting, they have called for a full overhaul of firearms licensing, one of the recommendations is to do away with SGC’s and put them as a section 1, as far as I can work out this wouldn’t affect anyone from owning a shotgun but if it was to be under a section 1 could you go and get a 10 shot semi? these people don’t have a clue what they are doing
-
Like FH I see nothing wrong with putting another into a fox, I’ve seen them bowled over with the HMR and then get up and run ( admittedly only once or twice) likewise I’ve seen them shot with .243 and run a long way, this is why I’m not a fan of using SP’s out of the centrefire on foxes a little story from last night. I’ve had a lad asking to come out with me and inviting me over to him for a while now, I kept fuc*king him off because he’s not really my type of chap, he’s one of these “ I’m out every night of the week, I kill everything, I’m mint, your a dickhead types” anyway he asked me

Only down side to what I do is most of it gets buried or covered in concrete so you don’t get to look at all my hard work ( lol, because there’s still no emojis)

I do enjoy this kind of work, after spending 25 years working on trucks and chemical tankers and not really giving a sh*t it’s now nice to be working for myself and with mates and wanting to do a good job, I was offered another lamppost job yesterday where someone had concreted them in and wondered why they are all leaning now, so I’ll have a look at that P.S. them holes were filled with concrete, not just left like that ?

Last night, spicy, tomato and basil pasta tonight, chicken breast with cream, leek sauce, mash and veg, tasted far better than it looks

Most of what I do is just common sense ( and YouTube videos) but I work with a builder on things like this and he is unbelievable, he did all the oak and rebuilt the sandstone gable ends, a real skill

Another busy week, lamppost installation at a school, 5 in total, we put all the cabling and ducting in and reinstate everything ready for the sparks just to connect, quoted 4 days, got it done in 3 so went and done a car charging point for them today, love working for these lads, just think of a number and double it, they don’t bat an eyelid, the just pay
