  1. A pleasant few hours stripping and cleaning guns, removed the NV from the.243 and refitted the vortex ready for the doe’s next week, give the.223 a good clean and refitted the NV, just need an hour up the farm now to get them zeroed, the .243 shouldn’t be too far off as I marked everything before I removed it
  2. It’s a strange one, it’s so weary, any sound from the caller and it gone, but it still hangs around the farm, if it had been out on the fields I would of said it’s been shot at, all I can think is ether the farmer or the old boy next door have scattered it from the yard
  3. So, I was back up at the sheep farm tonight as I’ve got a problem fox, I say problem but the problem is it’s seems more intelligent than me ( not hard) I’ve spent a lot of time up here in February and have accounted for 5 foxes ( which is a lot for up there) and some other stuff but there’s one that I just can’t get, it won’t come in to any call and is always around the buildings or in front of the sheep, so over the past 3 nights I’ve been baiting a paddock at the back of the farm, now it was on the bait last night but as I approached it slipped through into next doors field, so tonight I tho
  4. The price of thermal scopes has dropped a lot recently because everyone is launching the next generation, pulsar have brought out the duo, 4k colour combined with thermal, saying that, the price is still mental, I’ve used load of different thermal scopes and what I found is you still need top of the range for them to be good enough Hik’s stellar 50, is a cracking scope and has had about 700 quid knocked off it, but it’s still 3grand
  5. I don’t shoot loads of deer, only if I or someone else wants them normally, I’d sometimes take others out, but that’s stopped for the foreseeable, but my mate wants them thinning so I’ll have to get up there before he gets his keeper in to do it
  6. Is that it ? size 10’s up here theres loads of roe about at the minute, I was up at the sheep farm last night and it’s not very big and there was 6 scattered around the arable, I was at my mates the other night and there was 11, I’m off for a week after this week so going to get my butcher in order and knock a few over
  7. Small fox or big feet? looks a proper townie fox that, bit of a hard life
  8. Did I read somewhere that it was a refurb unit? Will they not just swap it for you
  9. I like chocolate and mushrooms, so I’ll try it for you ?? I like the serving suggestion, God mode ?
  10. Still makes dismal reading even saying it’s all reported crime, shows what a state this country is in
  11. Could be a typo, but when you read the full report it all reported crime, not just violent crime, and I’d well believe those numbers around here, it’s as ruff as toast, there places like little Albania you just don’t go
  12. The reason it so high round here is it’s only a small area and I can think of half a dozen murders in the past few months
  13. Only just, if it wasn’t for them 2 good Samaritans who knows what would of happened to me, in the most dangerous place in the country
  14. Fencing repairs up at the equestrian school today, nice and steady, popped out to farm supplies for a few bits, could easily bankrupt myself in here
  15. Chicken and leek pie, mash and carrots
  16. Up to the shoot today for a couple of reasons, firstly to pay the land rent to the landlady and secondly to fill my couple of feeders I keep going, I’ve also started baiting a couple of spots with rabbits I’ve shot over the past couple of weeks in order to get the foxes used to coming to a couple of areas for a feed where there’s a good backstop and good cover for me about 90 metres away, while I was up there I had a walk around with the 22 and accounted for 3 more tree rats and 1 rabbit that all ended up on the bait pile, I’ve noticed a couple of good groups of hens with a cock each over the
  17. In the summer I used to use a blade of thick grass between my thumbs, could make it sound like a hare death cry, up at the shoot and the sheep farm the thermal, nv and digital callers have made the job easier but it’s not a given, understanding the land and weather still plays a big part in it, I still like the old way with a lamp and a lip squeak but when it’s work and it matters I’ll take all the help I can get ( afford )
  18. What make is it, I have a Pbir laser that was doing it, I sent it back to Paul and it turned out to be the laser at fault, he replaced it and works fine now
  19. Sub floors all in and the concrete pad for the summer house/hot tub/ outdoor kitchen, 32 cube in 2 days, I’m knackered
  20. That’s a kind thing for you both to say I guess I’m trying to make up for all the terrible things I did when I was younger, sometimes things happen in life that completely change how you look at things and how you conduct yourself, saying that, I did threaten to throw a roofer of the roof yesterday, but that’s a work thing and every now and then I forget myself ??
  21. That’s a fair assessment of me “ a tw*t, but a nice tw*t”
  22. I never noticed that, surely that’s a misprint whats odd is we are the most dangerous place to live but two minutes down the road, North Yorkshire is second safest place to live
  23. Second year running and where I live has come top of a crime report of the most dangerous place to live in England, we don’t fu*k about round here ?
