Bad news mate, I’m sorry to hear that, hopefully something good will come to you when all this madness is over with, I lost my mechanic job at the start of this and I’m now self employed, a bit more skint but a lot happier, take a bit of time to see where life takes you next ?

I use these off evilbay can normally pick them up for between £30-£35 ?
-
So I went back up to where I shot the chicken muncher last light, the lad on the farm next door trapped 2 cubs and I shot 2 last night that were mooching around the sh*t pile, no pictures because it wasn’t pretty with the .243 at less than 70 yards but a job that needed to be done ?
-
Quality picture, we need more young fella’s like that ???
-
Nice work Luke, we are a bit behind here, I’d say it will be the end of the month before we see the first cut ?
-
You are a top gent mr Bernard sausage, it would be nice if it was gifted to someone who isn’t in a position to buy one at the minute and appreciates your generosity ? p.s. fill its space with a mouse gun, it may be a fat air rifle but they are good fun ?

The things we see when we are out, most will never see, one of the many bad thing to come out of this lockdown sh*t is people have had more time on their hands and have been enjoying the daily exercise, a gentle walk in a green space. Now they have a taste for it and are allowed to go a little further a field the top of the moors was covered in them yesterday and today, like ants in Berghaus, I had to scatter a few of them from around the farm, looking like this it wasn’t to hard of a task ?

I love taking a few pictures when I’m up there, it doesn’t all have to be shooting stuff, it’s nice to have a picture record of how the area changes with the seasons ?
-
Not that worried, I know it’s dead, by the way it reacted I know the shot was to far back, it jumped like someone had just put a hot poker up it bum
-
Your not wrong, my missus is 5’ 1” ?
-
You may have a new nemesis ?
-
Well it’s the first time I’ve ever had one run after been hit with the sako 70gr chucked at it from the .243, it was dead running, but run it did, straight down the field and onto next doors land, I hang my head in shame and take full responsibility for the shot placement
-
I’ve told all our shoot members that there’s no work days this season, so it will be like every other season because they don’t bloody turn up anyway ?
-
I think first proper job will be to spray off around the pens and then I’ve got about 12 snapped posts over the 3 pens, then I’ll start on the ride cutting ( oh joy ) ? right I need to get my arse into gear and get up to find this chicken muncher

A few more from around the shoot, I’ve missed being around these parts, watching the roe and fallow. My plan was to go back up tonight to have a go at the gingers but I’ve had a phone call say a fox has been in the hen house at another property, killing everything, it’s left 2 in a field so I’ve told them to leave them where they are and I’ll be up tonight, for now the shoot will have to wait
-
Still a few birds about, mainly around the farm where the old girl feeds them and where I have a feeder that was filled before lockdown, so I’ve just filled that one again
-
Back up at the shoot for the first time in about 2 months, mainly to see what needs doing as we have committed and ordered the birds, to say a lot is an understatement. First job is to sort the foxes out, not as much activity as I was expecting but I’ve found 2 active earths so far and ones been having a good old time of it snatching hens, now for a run over the other side to see what’s going on over there, before marking a plan as to what gets done first ?
-
Wow, that’s mental, how can you have a season on a pest
-
Something like that, I’m fine with the social distancing, what we do can be done on your own on private land, so go do it ?
-
I’m out now, sat on the side of a hill on a sheep farm waiting for fantastic mr fox, drove here on my own and I’m following what Boris said, BASC’s advice is follow what the government said and don’t come crying to us if the law gets stroppy with you, ?BASC
