My only experience with kids is other people’s, because I’m far to irresponsible to have my own, problem is these days the ones I know don’t like to be out in the fresh air for to long or are just whoppers, at least I’ve got little Hugo to show him the ways of the world, even if he’s going through his I’m going to be a little sod, just because I want to be phase ?

That’s quality, at least now you know he’s got it in him to do the mucky end of the job at first asking, I took one of my nephews out shooting rabbits and he back ended one into a hedge back, we went to retrieve it and he took the rifle off his shoulder, oh no my lad was my response, pick it up and I’ll show you how to dispatch it, I’m not touching it was his reply, so you are happy to shoot it, but when you make a mistake you are not prepared to put your mistake right, quickly and humanely, back to the car and off home we went ( after I stretched the bunny out ), never to come out with me aga

That’s it, shoot while your alive, sleep when your dead ?
-
???? bet you are over the moon with that mate, worth getting up at sparrow fart to get your first fox with a new rifle ?
-
RIGHT, I’m extremely envious now, I’m grounded tonight, but after looking at them two pictures I’ll be escaping tomorrow night ?

The .22lr is ideal for clearing them off the pond, when they are out in the fields on the other side of the ponds you can’t get anywhere near them, so that’s where the .243 does the job very nicely ?
-
This is the reservoir on the moor the lads I know keeper after the wan*ers descended on it over the bank holiday weekend, roads blocked with cars and sh*t left all over, no social distancing and a f*ck you attitude, it was some of these tw*t that started the fires, if you have no respect for the countryside the f*ck off back to your scruffy hole you call a home ??
-
That will do the job, my .243 is also a fine tool for the task at hand, if we want a bit of sport from it we’ll shoot them flighting in to the ponds on an evening, but at the minute the numbers are so big this isn’t really an effective option

A lad I know is a keeper on a big moor and they have had the fire brigade and the keepers out 3 times in the past week with idiots having barbecues in the heather, it’s lucky it’s a keepered moor with fire breaks or like these rewilded moors that have fires it would take days to get under control and at this time of year the damage to wildlife doesn’t bare thinking about

For me, lag should be on the pest species list like Canada’s, their numbers in certain areas are out of control and they do most of the damage when they are out of season, so when they are in season I’ve known places where they shoot every one they see, no sport involved or ending up in the food chain, just pure pest control
-
Well I wasn’t wrong, that was definitely worth waiting to read when I could give it my full attention, nice work ?
-
It’s a joke, the problem is they have all been enjoying their daily walk and seeing a bit of greenery and liking what they see, the amount of people that were around the shoot when I was up there was crazy and when they see me walking around with a rifle or out on the quad with a shotgun they look shocked and look at me like I’m the one that shouldn’t be there, I’m looking forward to bumping into them when I’ve got a couple of foxes draped over the front of the quad ?

Out on a pest control job last night, the sunset was amazing ? -
I’ve had all the shooting here for a long time, if you can shoot it you will find it here, from deer to rats, not so many foxes about now though ? I’ve used them on many occasion as fox bait, I like to watch them trying to drag it away, they won’t give up a free feed ?
-
I’m all excited now for an ianm write up, I’m saving this for when I get home ??
-
I’ve never seen so many, this lot is a mixture of Canada and lag, so can only take the Canada at the moment, not an ideal time of year to be doing it, having to be very selective but they are a major issue here, not only are the wrecking the ponds and the other birds nesting sights ( they have even smashed the black swans eggs, the owner is fuming ? about this ) but they line out in the wheat like a forensic search team and graze off the crop like flying cows
-
Nice job, I think I would take crow shooting over pigeons shooting, especially over decoys ?
-
That looks a nice spot ?
-
Out last night to have a look at some problem Canada’s, cleared a few from around the private duck ponds and was asked to shoot the foxes, so a few hoppers for bait strategically placed along a couple of hedge backs and I’ll be back in the next few days for a go at them, it really was a lovely evening to be out, if I didn’t have to come to work I’d of stayed out all night ?

It looks a decent splash, I’d feed it because once you get a couple on it more will follow ?

Well I manage to execute 3 of the egg munchers, took the missus with me. Never again, doesn’t like walking, doesn’t like the smell, doesn’t like things buzzing around her ( who does ) doesn’t like the countryside. Jesus, I’ve got a head ache ? we did see a lovely head of fallow, 7 in total, only managed to get a picture on my phone
-
No mate, they are just and sd card, the don’t send to your phone
-
That’s a fine outing Bernard, definitely put a stop to some damage there ?
-
I was thinking about going and sitting around the barn tomorrow where the crows are hitting the pheasants along a fence line with the little .22lr, there about half a dozen dropping into the grass and walking along the fence, there was easily 25 broken eggs along a small section of fence today
-
You must vent your anger on the ginger bugger ? mat the minute up at the shoot, it’s the crows that are hitting the pheasant eggs hardest
