If we go ahead, which hopefully we will, we will definitely have some sort of social distancing, the shoot trailer will be out of commission and like SL said it may take longer to set a drive up and to get people where they need to be but I bet they would take that over nothing, it’s not just a day out for people, rent needs to be paid, bird suppliers, pellet suppliers, who we get our wheat from all need to make money, they are without doubt going to be hit hard by this, so if we can go ahead and help a little I think we owe it to them to do so ?

The rifle of champions ?

You could be right there, with young to feed the roads were always worth a look for an easy meal, now they will be working a bit harder for a feed

The lad I know that shoots in York told me that for every fox he shoots on the chicken farm he will shoot 6 on the pig farm, he said it’s not uncommon to see between 4 and 6 in the same field, I’ve only been there once with him about 6 or 7 years ago and we seen 5 and shot 4 of them and he said that was an average, the places I shoot ( even the sheep farm ) if you get a couple you have had a cracking night

If they have a taste for bacon and are taking out 50 porkers then death is the only option, that must be some cost to loose that amount of stock
-
I’ve not seen any around here yet ( saying that I haven’t been out the bloody house for weeks so I wouldn’t have) a lad I know in York has cleared a full family out of a pig farm but he said they were no more than a few days above ground

Definitely, I’ve said on here before I don’t normally shoot foxes this time of year, I normally start in June when they are out and about, this been a pest control job I do what is asked of me ?
-
They just keep coming, better to be out in the fresh are than bogged down with the depression of EastEnders or something as equally terrible ?
-
It felt really good to be out, I felt normal for a couple of hours, well normal for me anyway ??

That didn’t work out quite as I was expecting it to, after I lost the light I put the rabbit distress call on and stayed sat in the corner of a small field, after 15 minutes or so I spotted one the other side of the hedge in next doors field, it was trotting in towards the call, all I needed it to do was come my side of the hedge, then it just disappeared, no idea where it went, I gave it another 40 minutes and called it a night, as I walked back into the yard I looked through the NV mainly to look up the long drive and 20 yards in front of me was another with the house as a backstop. I tried

Well I’m just starting to loose the light now and every shadow looks like a fox, it’s been that long since I’ve been out I’ve got the fox fever ??

Got one of my wigs on tonight ? haven’t had a haircut for weeks with all this carry on and I certainly don’t trust the missus ?

I’d go 300 Win mag, but we have some bloody big rabbits up here ?
-
Like many others I’ve been stuck in for the past 6 weeks, today I received a phone call from someone I didn’t know saying I’ve been speaking to someone and they have told me you control foxes and went on to explain that they had a small holding and a fox problem, apparently they are seeing them early evening so I’m guessing there’s cubs being fed, after talking it through and coming to agreement as they want an invoice to claim the expense through the business, I’m all excited to get out, even just to sit on some grass for a bit, if it had been different times I would of done this for free but

I’ve seen on one occasion where 3 adult foxes were feeding 5 cubs, you had the dog, mother vixen and a subservient vixen all bringing food, I’ve only seen it once but apparently according to a mate of mine this is quite common in densely populated areas
-
See if you can get it in the countryfile calendar, for April, show them what really goes on ?
-
cracking write up mr sausage, you are giving ianm a run for his money the way you told your adventure, I’ve seen vixens kill other cubs before but never try to eat them, but I suppose this is not uncommon as many animals eat their own young

I pulled a name from my hat on Saturday, but couldn’t get on to say who the winner was, so here it is ? Peterhunter86 ? PM me your address and I’ll get it sent to you ?
-
I’m saving this read for when I get home, but just by the name I’m made up for you ?

It’s still a bit hit and miss, sometimes I’m getting the same error when trying to log in

I blame packham, it went off Friday night, I need to be compensated for this, I’ve had to talk to the wife

Sorry for your loss, this is a sh*te state of affairs, by the time this is over everyone will know someone who has passed away from this, my missus has lost two work colleagues in the NHS, one of them only in her 40’s and my uncle is in hospital now having tested positive with a lot of underlying health conditions, all we can do is keep our fingers crossed, even my missus made a comment the other day about them using this to cut the social care bill and that’s not like her to say something like that

Stavross replied to Stavross's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
I’m glad you put that last post up, it shows that even with all the sh*t in the world most of the time life’s not that bad, If you need a new call bird I can paint the mother-in-law’s budgie black and white and send it to you ? -
