  1. A bit of squizzer bashing while out feeding up at the shoot last season, A good bit of fun shooting from the quad
  2. Another 3 foxes first one is longshanx first fox with the .243, this one came charging in to the vixen in heat call, by the time he took the shot he could of kicked it in the face with them legs the second one is Hugo’s dad, up at the sheep farm, this one came from nowhere, with the wind behind use blowing towards the fox he took the shot in a split second and to my amazement he dropped it the third one is me up at the shoot, again with the vixen in heat call, I shot this customer running, it turned out to be a very big old dog
  3. Another thing I’ve started doing is feeding on straw under the cover of the trees, a keeper told me to do this because the fallow don’t tend to rake through it for a few grains of corn and it keeps the birds occupied, I’ve not been doing this keeping lark for very long but I’ve learnt a hell of a lot from all kinds of people involved with it
  4. We have had to box a lot of feeders in on the shoot, we used to put posts in the ground and strap them to them but the fallow just don’t stop until they smash them up, a least using 4 pallets they can’t get at them, since I’ve started doing a lot of the work up there I’ve saved them a fortune in feed, they used to use wooden feeders and the deer would just knock the lids off and help themselves
  5. On the low ground I shoot we have a lot of roe, up at the shoot on top of the north York moors we have a big head of fallow, I’m only allowed to take them from the fields as forestry manage them amongst the timber and we have an agreement that I must be selective which is only right, it’s been a long time since I’ve taken deer up there but that will change this year
  6. Another quality write up, we would expect no less from your good self ???
  7. You will all be glad to know I’m running out of pictures, we are getting to the newer stuff now, a few gingers from the past 18 month
  8. By the time I get back at them properly the bloody cubs will be fully grown, that moon the other night was like daylight ?
  9. Late July out on a fresh cut field, it was baking hot, we waited for them to finish the cut and it wasn’t long before we had a visitor, shot before we lost the light, a lovely way to spent an early summers evening ?
  10. I’ve just finished it and if you are climbing the walls like me it will take your mind off things for a bit, it’s a load of tails of good old fashioned poaching of estates, pre war, it’s much more about netting and out smarting the keeper and the police, rather then shooting and running dogs if you want a go let me know and I’ll pick a winner when I can be bothered ?
  11. I’m the same, it’s only since I’ve had a camera on my phone that I take a lot of photos, I wish I had them from when I started out, I’ve been fortunate to meet some proper characters that I’ve leant a lot from, also like you a few of them are not with us any more, everything from suicide to old age, it goes to show you need to make the most of every day because you never know when it’s your time ?
  12. I’ve ran out of thumbs up ? today, but them last two pictures definitely deserve them, as I’ve said before I’m a bit obsessed with muntjac, Chinese water deer also interest me a lot, I think it’s because I’ve never seen one and they are a strange looking beast, I love the old shoot photos, game shooting for me is all about making quality memories with people of all ages and backgrounds ?
  13. Make sure you finish them eye drops, I don’t want you shooting me, mosh or longshanx when you come pheasant shooting with us after all this mess is over and done with ?
  14. I bet it felt like someone was welding your eyeballs ?
  15. I’m laughing at the nurse response to where you are from, not the lime in your eyes ( I bet that bloody hurt) they know what you lot are like ??? love the NHS ?
  16. Proper old school mate, I’ve got some really good memories from these times, these lads stopped me from going down a very different path ? I’ve known the lad in the picture for a long time now and he is without doubt one of the best people to ever come into my life
  17. I’m sure they call me worse than that behind my back ? I bet I’m like Peter Kay’s uncle nobhead
  18. I’ve just found this on an old laptop, this is probably the oldest picture I’ve got, we all think nothing of always walking around with cameras nowadays, this would be seen as a provocative picture today ( well maybe not on here ) but it was definitely pre ban, I’m 90% sure mosh was 30 when this was taken, that would of made me 21, oh to be 21 again, this was long before I had shotguns or rifles, the dogs were what we took all our ground game with, different times for sure ?
  19. I’m obsessed with muntjac, I seen my first one last year when I was in Lincolnshire, I was hoping to get the opportunity to shot one after a very kind offer, hopefully when we are set free again I’ll get my chance to take a couple of these amazing little mammals ?
  20. Some of my favourites from the first day of the 2018 season, this year was the best season we have ever had, so this was the year that all the hard work came good
  21. It is something I think I’d like to do and we have discussed it in the passed, even though we don’t have kids our lass is really good with our nephews and nieces, always helping them in any way she can, they always come to her when they think they can’t go to Mam or dad, on the other hand I’m the one they want to hang around with because they get to do all sorts that other kids don’t and they know if they are idiots they don’t get to come out with me again, the youngest one like to come out because he can say the F word in front of me and I think it makes him feel like one of the lads ?
  22. Where did you shoot the pig mate, I’d love a go at driven bore, I was asked to go to Poland this year for a go at the pigs for a mate of mine’s 40th, that looks like it’s out the window now
  23. Shooting a few pests around my mates uncles farm, sadly he died in 2018, now my mates brother has bought the place for his son to run and to keep it in the family, just before we were put in lockdown I was asked if I could have a bit of a clear up on the land around the farm, no one has done any real pest control for years on here, it was mainly used for beef where as now they will be growing cereals, it also has a large timber plantation next to it that has artificial fox earths in it, so I’ve been asked to take care of them because the family have a small farm shoot across the road from this
