    Up to the sheep farm tonight ( after a detour to FH’s to collect the buck ) met my mate there who is on a lifetime centrefire ban ( you know the one ), I took him the .17 for a bit of bunny bashing, he managed 5 for 5 shots, he shot one which was without doubt the longest rabbit I’ve ever seen shot with a .17, if only he could do that with a proper rifle. We did seen one fox but sadly it was in next doors field full of horses, I swear it knew I couldn’t take the shot, it knew we were there with the wind blowing from behind us, but just sat there about 80ish yards away Looking at us before turn

    Took my hoppers from last night to the shoot and set up a bait station on the ride at the piggeries, all the crop is getting a bit long now for calling them into the fields and I know there’s still one or two about over here, with a bit of luck these will end up been the last supper ?

    I used to love it when I was a kid, even more so if I’d hunted it myself and the old man did a rabbit stew with it, but after years of gutting hundreds of the things I can’t stomach it now, even when cooked I still get the aroma of innards ?

    She’s just went mad ? she wanted some disposable gloves for cleaning her rabbits out and thought they were in my car, ( I took them out last night and put them in the garage) she went and opened the boot and was greeted by a pile of one of her favourite fluffy tw*ts ?

    There’s certainly a good few kicking around this place, it’s a shame I didn’t get it 6 months ago before all the young came along, I’d much rather shoot adult rabbits, half of what I shot tonight was a few weeks about ground, but it’s pest control and a hour out over the summer when all the crops are to high on a lot of my other land ?

    Another go at the egg units/cricket pitch/ stables for the rabbits, bumped into the owner when I got there and he said go wherever you want, which was nice of him, I got the rifle out the back and realised I’d left my sticks up at the shoot last night ( bugger ) so free hand it would have to be, now I can’t remember the last time I shot without sticks and it showed. I still accounted for 19 in a little over an hour, missing a good half dozen, this place is a ferreting lads dream, every hedge back is just one big set, with access to both sides, when I was leaving I bumped into another lad who a

    A run up to the shoot to top my 2 feeders up I’ve still got on the go, I had a walk over the piggeries drives where I was greeted by a dozen kids running around in the woods, from the campsite a couple of field over, now not wanting to terrify them ( big old bloke with a rifle over his shoulder) I softly gathered them up and explain to them that they couldn’t be in the woods and needed to go back to the playing fields around the site, the place is like a wildlife desert now the site is back open , so back up to the farm for some .223 rabbit busting, I found what was left of one of last year’

    Spot on that, I did it the same way, no one else in my family shoots, I started on my own, learned from my mistakes and from people I met along the way and now I think I’m pretty good at what I do and I’d still have no problem crawling to get at what I wanted to shoot ?
