  1. Day 4 ( my day and the Christmas shoot ) not the best day weather wise, with thick fog all day, the birds just didn’t know what was expected of them once they got above the trees, they were getting up and a fair few went back on themselves or sat in the tops of the trees once they reached the fog, we did the usual drives, first off was the “ tip drive “ and again some good birds came for the end of this drive, my guest Mosh took probably the 2 birds of the day from this one, next was “ Gordon’s pen “ and as expected the birds couldn’t deal with the fog but at least everyone got a few shots off
  2. At the risk of sounding like a sanctimonious tw*t, I like to give people the opportunity to do something they wouldn’t normally get to do, a lot of people involved in all kinds of shooting don’t let anyone else in, I’ve been very lucky over the years with the land I’ve got and the people who have helped me, but it all started from one lad taking me out and trusting me not to go behind his back ? I’ve got my sheep farmer mate ( it’s his birthday shoot, so he gets to shoot all day ) and Robin Foxer ( of that YouTube) who’s been coming for the past half dozen years, it’s a bit of a
  3. Up to the shoot for first light this morning to feed and sort a few things out for tomorrow, it was absolutely freezing ? but still a lovely place to be, tomorrow is my day and the Christmas shoot, I have a couple of guests shooting so it’s down to me to look after everyone tomorrow, so for elevenses I’ve gone for leek and potato soup, corn beef and potato pie and bramble gin and Prosecco, fingers crossed everyone has a cracking day ?
  4. I’ll let him know, because I’ll be fu*ked if I’m doing it ?
  5. That’s the sh*t, bitumen paint, I think there’s some membrane to go on as well, didn’t show to much interest in case he thinks I’m going to do it
  6. Beats burying a 40 foot container ?I’ve already got the electric and water to it, he’s been trying to get me involved in tanking it, he can sod off with that sh*t
  7. Block and beam roof on the underground garden room ( sex dungeon) I put the foundation in for the other week, sick as fu*k I was meant to be finished for Christmas by now but the lad can’t do anything for himself, I was only meant to be putting the concrete and steels in
  8. Feeding this morning and with the thick fog it was still dark up there at 8, nothing had quite woken up when I set out and there was still a lot of birds around the pens, heading over the piggeries with the fog through the trees there was quite a few deer about, by the time I got to the main feed area over there I was met by a group of about 50 birds, the majority of them hens for some reason all looking at me as if to say “ where the hell have you been, we’re starving “. Next day on Saturday so with a bit of luck it will be a good one ?
  9. Back to the sheep farm last night as I’d seen a fox on the morning, the weather seemed almost perfect, if not a little warm, seen absolutely nothing but a handful of rabbits, weird how it goes sometimes
  10. I’ve just had a text off Mosh telling me he was out this morning with someone who looked exactly like me, the only way he could tell it wasn’t me was this lad could shoot ?
  11. A lovely little walk around the sheep farm with my mate Mosh this morning, first off around the sheds where I managed 3 feral pigeons for 3 shots, I think Mosh was just as shocked as me that I’m actually hitting a few things. Then it was off around the hedge backs to see what was about, we flushed half a dozen partridges and 4 pheasants but as it’s Sunday we let them be, the rabbits weren’t so lucky, I had 2 running through the rape and connected with them both, then as we past a big oak tree a squirrel made a break for it and I nailed that to the tree, I can’t tell you the last time I shot th
  12. 7 pheasants and a woodcock is a cracking day out and sounds a lot like a full season for me with my terrible shotgun handling, I’d be telling everyone if I’d hit the woodcock, never mind all them pheasants, I bet he’s chuffed to bits and will remember it forever ?
  13. m on maybe 30ish, to be fair I haven’t done the area’s I normally do with the shoot taking up most of my time and a chunk of them were when I went down to Lincolnshire I’ve just had a count up and it’s 21, not 30ish, that’s not very good, I’ll have to go out tonight and see if I can add to it ?
  14. I’m on maybe 30ish, to be fair I haven’t done the area’s I normally do with the shoot taking up most of my time and a chunk of them were when I went down to Lincolnshire you should of asked for one to match your pj’s ?
  15. Just a little walk around longshanx’s place tonight for some long range rabbits with the .17’s, not loads about but enough to have a go at and at some good distances, a lovely crisp, cold night, even though the moon was a bit of a pain
  16. I’d maybe help him out if he’d let me shoot in the forestry but you can’t expect me to give you the information for free ? I’ve heard a couple around me, but I think the locals would have something to say if I start calling on the cycle path
  17. ? good curry doesn’t need meat
  18. On my own today so I’ve gone cauliflower and spinach curry from scratch, very nice ?
  19. Feeding again this morning and I was there for first light, it was a lovely still, cold morning, deathly quiet, just with the odd pheasant call to break the silence, after feeding I was heading back to the farm and I bumped into the ranger, now he’s a lovely lad but he does ask to many questions, he was asking about deer numbers in certain areas, so I did what any responsible keeper would do and sent him in completely the wrong direction to where I’ve been seeing them around our fields ??
  20. I’ve only done it once where I took a lad out on one of my spots, told him not to go on there without me and he did just that, so I’ll never do it again, 90% of the land I have permission on now I used to poach, if I’d known the owner back then I might of thought better of it, only a few weeks ago his lad rang him to say there was lads on the fields with dogs, he flew up in the Land Rover, didn’t give them chance to explain themselves, just battered the pair of them ?
  21. On that note, I don’t have a problem with dog lads, it’s how I started out and we would run anything ( this will of been early 90’s ) what drives me mental is when they drive across fields and through gates, when I was up at the shoot yesterday I passed a field on the boundary and they had been on it with a motor, the crop damage was stupid, in all the years me and Mosh did it we never once did any damage and wouldn’t dream of taking a motor across someone’s crop
  22. They are a good fox bait, saying that I bet you could sh*t in a bag and a ginger would carry it off
  23. That big bugger would have the dog in a head lock ?
  24. Look at the bicep on him, it’s a good job I was armed, I wouldn’t want to go toe to toe with him ?
