Can I not tempt anyone with the tank top, I thought this place was full of old men ? I’ll pull names from a hat on Saturday after shooting seen as there’s a couple interested ?
-
I’ve got a shotgun for those who shoot the wrong way round as well so you’ll be fine you could always treat yourself or borrow one from the shop, if he’s a good bloke he’ll definitely lend you a second hand one if he thinks there’s a chance you’ll buy it

They can also refuse leaving you to find a GMC registered doctor that’s willing to do it
-
I’ve just been reading it came into effect on the first of November, they snuck that one in, my mate renewed in September/October and never had to do one

When you download your forms from your firearms department it will say on them if you need it or not, there’s some that ask for it some don’t ( mine doesn’t ask for one “ yet “ )

I’m going to try that, stuffing sainsbury’s bags and putting them out as fox decoys ?

Day 5 over with and where do I start, at the beginning I suppose. I’ll start of by saying the weather was absolutely terrible with rain and low cloud, 12 people missing due to bat flu, not ideal, especially when we had 3 guests that I wanted to put a good day on for as guest number 1 is a keeper on a big estate down the road and has helped us out a lot, guest number 2 is a keeper from a big syndicate in Richmond and guest number 3 was a keeper on a farm shoot and as I just play at this I really wanted them to think I had some idea about what I was doing, we gave it until about half 10 and as

This is something I’ve used for a long time, long before NV and the fact is, they just work, I’ve used both the foxpro and the icotec and them two are basically the same thing in a different shape box, the new icotec digital caller I use now is really good, the sound quality is far better than the old icotec and foxpro, that’s not to say the older ones don’t do the job very well, the down side to the new one is you need a Sherpa to carry the thing around for you, saying all this the foxes still need to be around to hear it, another thing is, they really come into there own in mating season bec

If what you do works for you, keep doing it ?

It looked perfect yesterday and the forecast didn’t look bad for today with an odd shower, wasn’t expecting that mess when we got up on the top
-
You definitely did that thing a favour, as we say round these parts “ that fox is fu*ked” ?
-
Well to be fair that first drive was very good, not a massive amount of birds downed but a hell of a lot of birds came out and a hell of a lot of shots ?
-
I’d take that over what we’ve got ?
-
It’s not looking good, 12 people missing and thick fog and rain
-
Well done young fella thats like taking down a horse for the mouse gun ?? p.s. I like the way the ir mounts on the rifle

Knowing the person who gave me it, it would of been rubbing on his diamond encrusted cartridge belt ?

I’ve got my fingers crossed, it was perfect conditions today, we are forecast rain by mid morning but that can easily be snow up there

Well, I’ve been given a few more items and sadly with the covid spread and the over indulgence of Christmas they are a little bit on the snug side for me, so though I’d offer them to the more athletic members first off is a Beaver of Bolton gamekeeper tweed vest/gilet it’s 44” ( large ) now it does have a hole in the lining but when you have it on you can’t see it, the outside is in very good condition, I had a look on line and these are between £140 and £170 new secondly is a Beaver of Bolton wool v neck tanktop size large with an embroidered duck logo, this is new and has never be

Feeding this morning, pre shoot day, when I set off it was cold but clear, by the time I’d got on the top there was between 3 and 4 inches of snow, first port of call was the farm to load the quad with wheat and off to the forestry pen, that’s where the problems started. On getting to the pen there wasn’t a bird to be seen, so I walked around the back of the pen as I could hear a bird taking flight and going mental, where I was greeted with a black spaniel running riot, now I know that this little tw*t belongs to a lass that works for forestry, so off I went to find her as this is not the firs

Oh yeah, I forgot about that, I knew someone who had one it was a good bit of kit, very similar to the pulsar but without all the crap you don’t need and a lot cheaper, still needed a good ir

This is just my opinion and as it means nothing in my house I don’t expect it to mean anything here everyone does different types of shooting and in different ways, You need to try a few and see what works for you, if any. What works for one may not work for the other, if I was to go out with FH I’d use the lamp because that’s how he does it and it works for him, where as when I go down to Robin Foxers I use NV and thermal because that’s how they do it, there’s no right and wrong, just different ways and what works for you, around here some of the RFD’s do NV evenings where you can go and

First of the year (a post by IanM)
Stavross replied to BenBhoy's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Another cracking ianm write up and well done for keeping Ben busy, giving him less time to send me disturbing selfie’s on WhatsApp ? -
I like the wraith I use on the .223 but it’s not without fault, there’s probably 3 things that annoy me a bit with it, first and most annoying is when I have it set on the mag I want it on ( normally x8 ) and want to put it on standby it drops a mag down to x4 ( the mag goes up in 4’s ) so before I put it on standby I find myself going up a mag to x12 so when I turn it on it’s on x8, secondly, it goes up to x24 digital mag, past x12 it’s pretty much unusable, x4, x8 are very clear x12 is ok for a long shot, the rest is a waste of time, thirdly, the ir it is supplied with is pants and it works

Glad you are getting on with it, I liked the calibre the first time I used it but still know a lot of people that for one reason or another hate it, I had a similar opinion to the .223, I always thought it was a bit pointless.243 does whatever.223 does and more and I thought.22-250 did what the .223 did, only better and always said I’d never have one, but now I think it’s a cracking little rifle for night time foxing, I guess every calibre has its place if used for the right job and if it suits the type of shooting your doing then it’s right for the job

Up feeding this morning and it was a lovely clear frosty morning, looking out to the east over Helmsley and beyond you could see for miles, looking out to the west towards Richmond it was white, we are forecast some snow on the high ground this week, so we’ll see what comes of that. The birds are still in the drives I would expect them to be in this time of year and are still eating well, only shot 2 squizzers today but seen a good dozen as I bombed around on the quad
