  1. Well that’s it, over and done with, not a big day but a good day to finish the season with, today I had Fellman Mark off here as my guest so I hoped the wind would get behind a few and make there way over him We arrived a bit early after checking the weather and knowing what birds would be there would be out and about, so we walked a few back into the drives drive number 1 was Gordon’s pen, not massive numbers but what did come out was very fast once the wind was behind it, a few of the guns got to shoot at some very nice birds on this one. Drive number 2 was the ruff next to Gordon
  2. It’s wild, but clear so should be a good day good luck on the geese ?
  3. No, we used to but the people who come to beat don’t really shoot, if they want to they can on the last day, most of the beaters are members so they stand one, beat one
  4. I’ve already had a few messages off a few members all giddy about the windy forecast, just got to hope there’s a few birds for the wind to get behind, we’ll definitely get a few days on the deer sorted?
  5. It’s a lovely place to be, the only thing that spoils it is dog walkers going where they are not meant to be, this has got worse since the lockdowns, sadly I don’t think they’ll all sod off now they’ve seen what my secret place has to offer
  6. Last day tomorrow so up to feed this morning, a lovely bright day so what birds we have left were on the move, I took the thermal with me to see what was about, just looking from the quad while on the tracks I easily seen 50 which is not bad for this time of year, now I’m not expecting them to shoot 50 but if everyone gets a few bangs I’ll be happy, there’s definitely a few deer moving around now, I went up the track through the ruff side of the piggeries and 2 minutes later when I’d turned around at the top and was heading back there was 4 standing on the track, by the time I got my phone out
  7. I like a traditional stock, the little CZ .17 has got a neoprene sock on it to raise it a bit like Dave said GRS are very heavy and if you put it with a varmint barrel it will be like dragging an assault cannon around the field
  8. Money well spent ? the greedy, lazy basta*ds
  9. So vegans can’t eat plants now because they feel pain and scream, looks like a lot of vegans are going to starve to death ? oh well ?
  10. 203308115380 I couldn’t work out how to copy the link so this is the item number, it has the screen inside ?
  11. I’ve always used the ones with the screen inside and I always paid between 25/35 quid for them off evilbay, I’ve just had a look now and they’ve shot up in price, I like to be able to check them while I’m there, I did find another that had a screen in but I’ve never had one like this all mine have had more sensors on them, the one in the picture I’ve had over 3 years now
  12. It’s not hiding from you, it knows it’s perfectly safe, even if you have a shotgun in your hands ?
  13. Looks like your getting on with your ad-on Bernard ?
  14. Day number 7 and I wasn’t expecting a big day. When we arrived it was a lovely bright and cold day, nothing like last week, not having massive amounts of birds left we mixed it up a bit today, doing drives in different orders and doing a couple we wouldn’t normally do. First drive was the standard Gordon’s pen, as with every drive of the day there was not loads of birds but there was still some good birds and a bit of shooting, drive number 2 was the ruff patch next to Gordon’s pen that we use to hold the birds early in the season, this took a bit of time to get going but for the lads in the f
  15. Well, you don’t want to be carrying it about when someone will deliver it to you at the drive ??
  16. I might of said this before but my idiot moment was bursting for a wee when out foxing , whipped the little chap out and pis*ed on a electric fence, fell on the floor and pis*ed all over myself, never felt pain like it and I had ball ache for the next 24 hours, it felt like I’d been struck by lightning, when I’m out now I never wee up against anything
  17. Very sad that and I know they wouldn’t of know the bridge was going to collapse and we all do daft things but they really shouldn’t of been riding around in a little farm trailer been pulled by a Polaris, we had a plant trailer with bails in it that we used to go around the shoot in pulled by one of the lads pickups, we had a few near misses with it so we knocked it on the head and make them walk everywhere now with one pickup taking the guns, birds and a couple of old buggers around the shoot
  18. That’s ok, he didn’t deserve any
  19. A few years back I had been watching some cubs over a couple of days and waiting for the vixen to come back to deal with her first, when she did she arrived with 2 hen pheasants in her mouth, it couldn’t see where it was going and had no idea I was about 60 yards away, the .17 did the job perfectly
  20. There on the way chaps, hope you get some use out of it ?
  21. I like to see them up there in late spring/ early summer when the cubs are with them, although I like to watch them on a warm light evening, what I really mean is I like to know where they are, now I’ve said I’ll keeper it again next season I’ll put some proper effort in this year
  22. When the missus seen them last night, she said “ why is there 3 kilo of weed on the kitchen top” what worries me is she seems to know how drugs are packaged and in what weight ?
