  1. Yep set no problem, this is my first time doing jam, I found it very straightforward, just googled it, damsons, sugar and water. Beginners luck. I also made up a bottle of damson gin, and have a bottle of damson vodka for the cold mornings out hunting this season. Good to go.
  2. Some damson jam i made today, it's edible anyway, haha
  3. Hmm... I'd do a tiny fruit and sugar compote, to see how it tastes, and go from there. (Might lend itself more to a vinegar onion relish thing?) I'd also do a small fruit only boil, and test for pectin (tsp liquor into tbsp meths) before bothering to do a full jam session. (Lemon shells, pips, crab apples etc to pep up pectin levels if nec). All just guessing...... (none of my fruit spirits last longer than 4 months, if they're not bottled up quick). I had a couple of abject fails with puddings using vodka soaked rhubarb and gin soaked sloes, and so now always bin the lot. Be interested to se
  4. I picked some Damon's/wild plums going to make jam and damson gin with them. Made damson vodka last year and only bottled it yesterday, do you think I could make a jam from the damsons I made the vodka with? Same weight of sugar and damsons, should I add anything else? Thanks.

    Gaelic

It is who we are. When you put on the jersey you are doing it for your village, your parish and your club. You are playing with your brother, relations and friends. Playing for a team that your father and grandfather played for, your mother washed the jerseys for and made the tea and sandwiches. From the moment you can lift a hurl or kick a ball you are part of all that. Its hard for other sports to compete with that tradition and that sense of belonging.

    Gaelic

Its a very popular sport in Ireland the two Gaelic football All Ireland semi finals were on at the weekend. One was a replay and I think there was about 60,000 at that on Saturday. There was 82,000 at the game yesterday. Not too many sporting events in any country would attract those numbers? Waterford and Galway play in the All Ireland hurling final in September. Waterford haven't won since 1959 and Galway since 1987. Love nor money won't get you a ticket. All these players are amateurs and playing for their parish, club and county. Nearly every parish in Ireland would hav

  9. Haha must be a Cork one, my mother used always say it, I don't know why she used to keep looking at me when she was saying it though, haha. If the hat fits, wear it. You'd want eyes in the back of your head
  10. Is that dog out of the last ones to come from PMThe most impressed I've ever been by terriers was on PM's yard way back. B I would agree I was lucky enough to have been in his yard too on a few occasions and seen some of his dogs and they were very impressive terriers in every way. I think he has a knowledge of the breed and had a line of wheatens that not too many had. Is there any of his stuff around now? yes there is a few around some up north That's good to hear, be a pity to see a good line of terriers like that dying out. Is that dog out of the last ones to come from P
