  1. I stopped following the family because i got caught head games and the last dog i had out of this line was run over which took the decision out of my hands. I'd give every dog out of my yard for one more year with Toby, then i could pack up happy. Would that have been around the time when you introduced the unrelated bitch that you mentioned earlier? Thanks and sorry about all the question.
  2. Dillydog Thanks again for the great pics and info and making this a very interesting thread. Was there a reason why Toby wasn't used over many bitches? Just wondering was it that there were no suitable bitches available or did you think there were better dogs out there and used them instead? Can you also become a slave to the line/too fixated with using a certain dog over a certain bitch and risk missing breeding off a dog of the calibre of Toby? Going with your head rather than going with you heart? Thanks
  3. I've got more, didn't want to come across as a know it all :-) Far from it Dilydog, you can see from the comments that we are enjoying your posts and pics and we would all like to see more. Thanks
  4. I totally agree, thanks Dillydog. There have been some great threads recently on the terrier forum, thanks to those men for sharing their experience and knowledge.
  5. That must have been a tough and brave decision at the time, to introduce a bitch with unrelated blood into your line? She must have been some bitch for you to do that, what qualities do you think she had that impressed you most about her and wanted to introduce you into her line? Some great pics of cracking dogs. Thanks
  6. shurup you ,i know your mocking me Haha, I wouldn't do that.
  7. Great picture Jigsaw, is there no end to your talents?
  8. Thanks, another good thread with very interesting information and opinions. I don't know anything about those two men apart from what I have read, however I always wondered was Mr Buck the grafter and Mr Breay the one who put the thought into it? Maybe that's why they produced such good terriers, they both brought something different, good team work,? We all have our strengths and weaknesses, but sure who knows at this stage, we can only speculate?
  9. Excellent thread and some great information, thanks very much for sharing and in particular to Glynn and Foxdropper for sharing their experience and knowledge, it is very much appreciated. I know it's a bit simplistic, but ideally should you have two separate but closely related branches of the line so that they can be blended in as needed and required and reduce the need for an outcross? Both branches would have the same sires with only the bitches differing, giving you the half brother and half sister option? Thanks again.
  10. Smashing birds Taz, what is the colour description of the lighter birds? Thanks
  11. Thanks Taggy, she is just coming up to three.
  12. Picture of my bitch, very happy with her.
  13. How do you make the pesto? Does it keep for long? Thanks
  14. Nice job Chicken_man, fair play to you, that is a great skill/trade to have.
  15. I'm not into this kind of thing, but when I saw it, I thought the same thing, it would make a great garden ornament. Beet crusher seems to be the general consensus, however below is the type of beet/turnip crusher that would have been normally used in this area and you would see a lot of them around. The pictures above looks like a more sophisticated machine. The man that owns the land now, thought it was used for crushing/shredding furze for feed/bedding? https://www.google.ie/search?q=antique+beet+pulper&biw=1138&bih=526&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&
  16. Haha, no that would be way beyond my capabilities. This is what I was asking you about, I might just about manage this? A pot/bastible and hanger, I'm going to make a bit of a garden feature out of it and put a few plants in it. Well thats the plan anyway.
  17. I'm not sure if there are any lads on here into antique farm machinery, I came across this in the haggard of an old farm house. Anyone got an idea what it was used for? Thanks,

  24. Most of the devices (pieps, ortovox barryvox) seem to transmit and receive at 457 hertz. If the zoom+ is the same then the B&F collar will work with it?
