Good on you guys.....wait till November/December time and those squirrels begin to realise that running up trees into the canopy cover doesn't seem to work anymore!!

Guys Game Licences were abolished 1 August 2007 in England and Wales. There is no legal requirement to hold a licence to either take or sell game anymore. There is no requirement for a local council licence either nationally. If your local council has some strange byelaw requiring this then maybe, but the national requirement for a game licence was abolished last year! My council gave me and my Game Dealer a hard time about it last year and threatened action (in September2007) until I stuffed a copy of the Regulatory Reform (Game) Order 2007, 1 August 2007 under their nose, t

Ok...I will be the first to admit I know about as little as it is possible to know about reloading...so please bear with me... Ammo wise I have requirements for.... .22LR .17HMR .22WMR .223Rem .243 Win .308 All common rounds, all fairly readily available with a good choice and reasonable price in factory ammo. So...what's the story with reloading, will it take much time/cost to set up, and how long to learn it all, how long does it actually take to load a round??? I get through far more ammo than the average on both hunting and target ammo...and...can I reload 12g sho

I have a Nissan X-Trail, excellent on road and excellent off road IF you change the boots, otherwise useless off road! The Sat Nav is about as useful as a chocolate fireguard...bit of a tarts motor really...but hey...I like it....suspect you may get better help/advice if you post here.... 4x4's, Quads & ATV's

Go with Sean on this ...40metres.... NOT recommended for most shooters and most situations with a 12 ft lb. HOWEVER, this is infinitely possible! One site I have has horses and jumps and one jump is almost exactly 40 metres from a ditch/hedgerow where bunnies live. A shooting pal who often comes to this site with me has this totally sorted with his 12 ft lb Rapid Mk 1. Sits behind the horse jump and waits for them to come out...but it's just like target shooting, known distance, quality gun, plenty of support for the gun! and half a dozen head shot dead bunnies every time!

I have the FN19 Walnut Skeleton in .22. Was 12ft lb when I bought it back in about 1999, upgraded it to FAC (26ft lb) in about 2000! Gun is remarkably accurate bearing in mind the barrel flexes more than a bass guitar string. Overall build quality does not compare with the likes of Theoben and Weirauch and the magazine cycling can be difficult to set up. BUT....it is well priced and a gem. I have not regretted buying it! This lot could be very helpful to you........ http://falconowners.myfastforum.org/ It's also the tool that dealt with all the squirrels as featured in

Errr...Errrrr...don't know enough obout the 200 to comment but looking at all this malarky I suggest chucking it and just get a 410, seems a lot easier, and the way this one seems to be going could well be cheaper in the long run too!

Cheers deker so that basicaly means the cross hairs move freely Was thinking of a new scope anyway something a bit more powerful Put simply this spring controls the crosshairs position and movement via the turrets. If the spring or housing is damaged or has "jumped" it may not be holding the crosshairs plate firmly in position resulting in the symptoms you are experiencing...but until you, or someone starts taking the scope apart you will not know for sure! It has obviously not jumped entirely as you still seem to be able to adjust it back, so it may just have lost tension. Can b

Synthetic/wood/stainless/blued.....ALWAYS dry as best as possible with a cloth and then leave to dry at ROOM temperature ! Then oil as appropriate. NEVER put ANY gun next to a radiator, fire or any other DIRECT heat source, otherwise thing like this will happen... Oh yes...and NEVER put it away wet either!!!
-
Sounds like a problem with the coil erector spring! Potentially fixable but if you are not happy doing it take it to a good dealer, but be careful, it could turn out expensive and you may decide a new scope is a better option! See if anyone has any other ideas!

So that bloke in the advert can shout and scream about another brilliant use for CILLIT BANG now!!

rexdigger... it doesn't matter if you kill them with a dog, cat, bird, gun, baseball bat, etc, etc someone will complain; fact of life! But I don't understand the apparent rift between the dog boys and shooters, nobody has exclusive rights and we should both be able to work together without slagging each other off. I get help from the dogs sometimes just as I do from the ferrets....and I get calls from them sometimes!!!! But this could wonder off into a whole new thread.....

I would also think it its the crack or thump hitting the target. Mine CZ with sak mod on Winnie subs is silent, until it hits it's target. Lead on skull is quite a reasuuring sound, means humane kill.... Matt your right mate the 40 gr is abit of a smack Well...I was wondering....22LR with subs and a SAK or ASE, it really isn't going to get much quieter, (Mr Logic uses a DM80 Hornet moderator on his rimmy sometimes, it's good but I don't think it will be any better than a ASE...which probably has the edge on the SAK) but surely cbw can tell the difference between report crac

cheers do you no the worst thing is wanting to go shooting!! being able to go shooting!! but having no shooting partner to lamp up as hes fu***d off fishing for the night lol so you find some one who's up for it but the poor sod hasent got a clue lol i feel bad been shouting at him all night not his fault ill train him up :11: Errr! Errrr! Plenty of lamp fittings for your gun/scope so you don't have to rely on someone else!

It's been said a million times about CZ, you will not do better until you spend a LOT more!! Scope wise, depends if you are target or hunting or both, but in principle you can get away with almost anything on a rimmy, no cartridge kick and no spring jolt...other than a 12ft lb PCP it's just about the most gentle thing you can bolt a scope to!

Go along with pretty much everything above, they don't like the rain and will tend to stay home but after a day or 2 of not stop rain they will come out just as usual...cos they are getting a bit hungry! They do not like it too hot either, those really hot sweaty evenings for you, will often be very unproductive bunny wise!!

With regards 6.5x55 I have very little experience, but a lot of experience with the T3 and a bit with the RWS. I suspect this response will not help but I like and rate the T3, problem I have with my T3 lite with a Predatior 8 on the end of it is the balance, everyone knows putting a mod on screws up the balance but as the butt of the T3 Lite is SO light and hollow the balance is terrible! GMK suggest taking the butt pad off and adding brown expanding foam and a bit of lead to redress the balance issues. I also note the new Tikkas are now arriving screw cut but with a couple of inches

Jamie, I don't think anyone would argue with buying the best glass you can afford but snap shot has made a general comment about Hawke..saying they are a problem....point I am simply trying to make is that Hawke scopes are made by several different firms to different build and glass quality, seems everyone he knows has had a problem; they have either been unlucky or bought the wrong scopes (or both). Just so happens that I have 2 Hawkes, one is very expensive, top end of their range (no longer available) and crap, the other is only about £120 and brilliant. I also know several other pe

.22 still outsells .177 by a factor of more than 2 to 1. And it is news to me "...everyone selling up with .22 and turning to .177" They are NOT more accurate!! A common, incorrect use of terminology! They just fly flatter and faster; over a given distance .22 are just as accurate as .177, they just drop quicker so you have to think more about the shot when you are out in the field! .177 are used a lot for target work,..one reason being the drop, another being the fact they make smaller holes, so with outward scoreing you have a chance of getting a higher tally!

Just thought of a new event for "Worlds Strongest Man"....fastest person to HAND pump a PCP to 200ft lb..that will sort the men from the boys!!

SNAP SHOT Got a lot of time for most of your posts but the Hawke business is a little too general. The Hawke range of scopes does vary a lot in quality but I am given to understand the Endurance with their Japanese Optics are not only pretty good but also offer excellent value for money! Also know a guy who has had a Hawke Mil-Pro on his Tikka T3 Tactical in .308 for years and is over the moon with it!

I was thinking about getting a bsa ultra, but like you say i need to try them out for size. Are the hand pumps any good? I think you will find they are ok for the occassional user, but be careful with filters, "Air" is filthy and damp compared to divers bottles. The pump is also hard work, and they are pretty expensive to! If cost is a problem look around for a used bottle! Bottle wins it for me evey time!! Cheers
