  1. BRAKEDOWN: action and barrel seperated. full gun bit obvious good luck mate cheers for that.i know it was obvious, but what i am saying could you put a full gun in a safe that says broke down ,ie in length. You are talking most specifically shot guns that take apart relatively easily..the answer to your question above is NO!
  2. I hear what you say and totally understand it...just goes to show finances outway the law though! An introduced species now being protected despite Section 14 Wildlife & Countryside Act 1981..a serious case of double standards!!
  3. Flippen 'ek whatever you like looking at this lot...I suspect it will be a bit different for different land/species/area of the country but in simple terms I'd go for temperate and early morning or evening
  4. Lots of ways of doing it but a quick word with your local C&E offices will give you all the legal answers!
  5. CCI subs tend to give me decent results in my CZ Silhouette but they are very hard to chamber. Eley give me best results BUT I use Magtech subs at the moment (very good and cheaper than Eley) and Remington Yellow Jackets HP for High Velocity!
  6. Try here.. http://www.jsramsbottom.com/cgi-bin/jsr.cg...mp;z=0&aP=0 it is true..you do not have to spend a fortune..the JSR scopes are very good value for money!!
  7. Just got the brand new model CZ Silhouette in HMR, got a £65 JSR 4-16 mildot target on top...F*****g brilliant! BUT.... if you have £400 to spend on a scope then great..but not necessary!!
  8. Flippen 'ek..don't often see that sort of agreement...but I go along with it too Domed for Hunting and practice...you MUST use the same, they will fly differently if not and any difference in cost is a false economy!
  9. F*** Me!!! ............ Well in my book you can NEVER spend too much on a scope but £500 on a HMR There is no kick or thump on a HMR so as long as you can get something you can see through you are on a winner!...Half that money and you have plenty of choice Try looking here.. http://www.opticswarehouse.co.uk/ http://www.jsramsbottom.com/cgi-bin/jsr.cg...mp;z=0&aP=0 Etc..etc

    Servicing

As per my previous post this guy DOES videos./dvd of servicing for you to follow!! http://www.trobb.f9.co.uk/
  11. .22 Depends what rifle barrel/action you have and what you want to shoot, Accupells have been brilliant for me is some guns but terrible in others! Still rate them...don't bother with the Premiers though, currently I favour AA Field and H&N FTT, if you are up around 30+ft lb Bisley Magnum!
  12. For whoever it was who asked the heart lung are a little below the neck near the top of the ribcage. Problem is the gizzard, which is commonly full of corn/wheat/blackberry is also close...almost as hard to hit the heart area on a pigeon as the head!

    SMK 19

This is not right and should definately be capable of doing better than this ...BUT.....be aware that rifles costing £200-£300-£400-£500+++ COST THAT FOR A REASON...this is a budget gun and in all reality is meant for a bit of fun in the back garden...you are not going to win anything at the Olympics with one of these!!
  15. Nothing to upset anyone, can be very difficult to get some land but the harder you try the luckier you get in my experience...good on you...
  16. I have a reasonable selection of FAC tools...and SGC tools, but I can honestly say my favourite for a million reasons is the .22LR
  17. Difficult to say whos is the best but BASC insurance is good and their background staff/support is meant to be second to none. I'm a member...but also for cost savings check out CA, CPSA, SACS, etc etc, probably find they are all cheaper BUT.....
  18. I believe the only true for of hunting is with dogs. Shooting something with a rifle is something [NO TEXT TALK] could do, them things are so fine tuned an amimal at 300 yards looks like its right beside you.Whereas when you go out with a dog the quarry has a much better chance and you have to pit your wits against nature. Thats hunting in my eyes. Here we go again..I seldom notice shooters slagging off the dog boys so can you dog boys please have some respect for the skills of shooters. Despite the common misconseption it is not easy to shoot a fox, at distance and at night..thi
  19. ...and if by any chance it is sub sonic you can hang almost anything you like off the end; it will be quiet(ish)!
  20. 1-8 or 1-12 twist ???? Barrel length ??? What ..if any, Mod do you have on it???
  21. As a rule YES!!! But I suspect someone will come back and say mine doesn't..every manufacture has their own definition and spec for each type of gun, so there are minor differences, but the principle stays the same with all manufacturers!! Just like some manufacturers choke sizes are different!!
  22. Information from GMK leads me to believe ALL the Tikkas are now coming into the UK screw cut, not cut is now special order. The cut Tikkas also have a shorter barrel so this helps with the balance with a mod. Mine is a full length barrel which I had to pay money to have screw cut, should have had the barrel cut down a bit to, still thinking about it! As far as I am aware, just as Mr Logic says the RWS are screw cut but check with the importers, Ruag! Despite what they say the Predator 8 is slightly heavier than the T8! I am still not happy with the balance of my T3 synthetic so a
  23. game will be fixed choke at quarter and half, a sporter will be multi choke Hello all, new to the forum and don't want to start an arguement but that is not correct! Plenty of game guns are multichoke and plenty of sporters are fixed...that is not the difference! It is weight, rib, stock/butt and barrel angle/length etc...but that wasn't the question! Strange as it may seem.. A Game gun is designed to give best advantage against Game Sporter is designed to give best advantage on sporting shoots DTL is designed to give best advantage on DTL A Skeet gun is designed to g
