  1. Google "free rifle targets" 318,000 results...something useful in there I suspect!
  2. There are at least 3 different systems for rifles, (probably a lot more) just take in something from the kit you want the scrubber for and most RFD will be able to supply!!
  3. I suspect this is the one I know quite well...I'm personally not a great fan ...that's the reason I moved this scope on...but being honest, it didn't work for me...that's not to say it isn't any good!! Quite popular in the USA I understand..
  4. Difficult to respond as each manufacturer makes so many varients...but I have 2 x Tikka T3, a Lite and a Hunter and I have recently bought a Rem 700SPS Stainless in .308 and I'm impressed..... but the X Mark Trigger is still not as good as the Tikkas!!
  5. You can chuck any .243 or .308 over 600 yards, but a specific long range target tool is far too heavy or general deer stalking...and very few deer are taken out to 600 yards ...so a bit of thinking to do perhaps!!
  6. Sound...cover all bases with this selection, but many more choices for more specialist work.
  7. This goes round and round and will not be resolved until there is a SPECIFIC law, at the moment the Home Office issues guidelines and the police interpret them the way they want. Now...to really stir it up...I don't rate the HMR very good at all for fox, my .22LR with a 40g HP Subs is a much better and a brilliant fox stopper, good penetration, massive expansion, big hole, usually delivers most of its energy (bullet stays in) dead fox..... ....for longer range the .22WMR and for even longer range the centrefires.... .....and interestingly, after many years of saying the .308 was ov
  8. Chap...the LAW does NOT state that, the guidelines may suggest it is not suitable, and many regions will not consider it for fox, but seeing as mine and a lot of other peoples FAC is specifically conditioned with the word FOX next to .17HMR then a lot of us would be breaking the law!
  9. I find a .22WMR a very efficient fox tool but I have lots of different situations to deal with and use the most appropriate rifle/ammo as possible. Simple fact is many regions are not happy with rimfire on foxes. We have had this debate many times, there is much in the archives here!!
  10. you could use it close up but it more where you put the shot head or neck, cheers sounder cheers sounder IT IS ILLEGAL TO USE ANY RIMFIRE TO SHOOT FOX RicW Dear Mr Newbie...... I don't know who you are but best not to shout until you know what you are talking about. I and many others have my .22LR, .17HMR and .22WMR specifically conditioned with the word FOX!!!
  11. Stupid FAC paperwork..yep you need it!!!
  12. First off it's a sound moderator, second, if you are in any doubt don't do it.
  13. Daft isn't it...you can still get your shotgun cartridges delivered to your door!!!
  14. MOST shotgun cabinets can be mounted upside down, horizontal or at an incline...the FEO is not interested in the angle it is mounted, simply that the anchoring requirements are met.
  15. Deker, Could you add a cheek-piece like on the Varmint models and weight the cheek-piece. Yes Cheers...I thought about that, the adjustable or the ordinary "stick on versions" that Tikka do, but talking to GMK about these as aftermarket parts is like talking to someone on another planet!! What about one of these There are three different models That looks a possibility..don't know these, can you tell me more/give me some contact details...Cheers
  16. Well...the .243 seems to have really taken to the PRVI...long may it continue, and early tests with the .308 appear encouraging group wise, and the ammo certainly delivers!!
  18. Closed FAc is cool, as we currently have 1 permission which is 2 fields. ( or is that 2 permissions ) Closed FAC is a pain in the ****, but it's better than NO FAC!!!
  19. Latest trail of events in the saga of getting some balance to the T3 Lite. **** me, this is a nightmare and cost me a fortune...anyway just had the barrel chopped (after changing scopes, mounts, moderators several times) and the balance is now the best it has been BUT..it is still the worst of all my centrefires, balance point is too far forward (all my guns have moderators). Last resort, I spoke to GMK about this at the Game Fair a couple of years ago and they said everyone sprays brown foam into the butt and drops in a bit of lead!!! Before I launch into this, any other suggestio
  20. If you are talking my scope there is no problem, carriage will be a little more that's all!! No idea about the other suppliers!!
  21. A shotgun is seldom my first choice for the fox but some situations dictate it...other times situations present!! Close, and a fairly heavy load is best!
  22. Zero session Sunday, backstop was a log pile and these went clean through an 8" tree trunk and split some 2" logs behind..my lad found the first and the second was next to it....the lead core has completely gone on one but is a nice cone shape on the other..expansion is still excellent considering this was pushing through hard and solid wood. Ammo is .308 PRVI 150g Softpoint Pics are best I could do with the phone, but I think you get the idea!!
  23. Deben.com jsramsbottom.com Plenty of others...and if you are interested I have this........ Hawke Varmint II 4-16x44 with sunshade Bought this as temporary about 4 weeks ago, I already have the 3-12x44 version on my .22LR, great scopes! http://www.deben.com/optics/riflescopes/varmint_2.php You may have seen the picture of the scope on my HMR and what it can do...I'll try and get the pictures up again later. Obviously still have box etc, list price of the above is £133.90 plus delivery, this package is all but brand new and I will ship anywhere in mainland UK for £85,
  24. I'm not looking for a problem either, but how come you end up chasing your deer all over the country after you have shot them and mine fall down dead...if I have to chase it 10 yards from where it was shot I am pissed off!! I think I have ONE runner of about 50 yards in the last 2 years......something is not adding up here...what are you hitting them with and where??? Shot placement..right bullet, job done..we all know deer can, and do run, but with all respect NOT on the whole when you hit them right!!
