  1. i've been using 3in steel number 3 shot, its about 8 pound a box - thats really cheap i think compared to some of the hevi-shot type stuff.... if i was taking longer range shots at high birds i might invest in some expensive stuff, but shooting birds at short ranges off of a pond i cant see the need.
  2. i had some trouble when i was 17 - it didnt go as far as getting a caution but it was for a small scrap that i didnt start, but still that showed up, and i was questioned about it by the FAO during my interview even tho i hadnt mentioned it on my application, so im sure an official caution would show up.
  3. ive got an Fac shotgun without a restriction on capacity so its not a problem legal wise, its just a bit of tube that screws on the end, im just wondering if it is more likley to cause stoppages without having a longer spring? the current one seems long enough but i want to avoid having stoppages unnecessarly and wonder if a longer spring is the norm?
  4. If you fit an extension tube to a semi auto to convert it from a 5 shot to an 8 shot do you always need to change the spring aswell? Thanks in advance. Sam
  5. ive had mine for under a year, brand new and i was impressed, i had heard so many bad things about them so iwas a little worried but the dealer said the new ones have been good as gold. ive gone through loads of 32 gram shells and had no problems at all. i got mine from helston gunsmiths in cornwall for £350 with the extension tube. yeah its cheap, but its also cheerful to go with it
  6. that was hard work reading that
  7. Nice one! is that a remington 700? what cal is it? Sam
  8. I missed it! Im at the hospital headley court where they filmed some of it - we had a comedy night with Al Murray last night and i have to say the bloke is amazing. he stayed all day and went round talking to all the injured lads (and ladies) then after the show put his card behind the bar and drank all night with us til closing time! Im only here with a damaged disc but some of the lads are recovering from very serious injurys and to see them laughing and joking with Al Murray was great, he really lifted the morale of the guys - off stage he was quite quiet and very respectful and it was g
  9. holy sh*te, if only i had the cash.. looks like a bargain.
  10. its clear all the way to the last inch or so and then its got about an inch raised against the barrel, they are all like it i think.
  11. My remington 700 has a sort of semi-free floating barrel and in .270 i find it gets hot quickly and the POA moves, i was thinking about taking the stock off and removing the small stop that touches the barrel in the hope this will releive the problem somewhat. However i was worried that the synthetic stock might be a bit flexible and would still end up touching the barrel when using the bipod - what do you think? Any advice would be greatley appreciated!
  12. I'd love to sometime mate, been on the look out for a lamp just this week actually.
  13. Nanpean - nr St. Austell, tho im away alot with the army so its always hard finding time to get out anywhere
  14. Had a nice sunny day over the weekend so i managed to persuade the girlfriend to come over to my friends carp lake in the afternoon when it cooled down to do a spot of casual pest controll, remove a few rabbits and that. We openly wandered around the perimiter quite noisily with her almost dragging her feet as she isnt a big fan of anything that goes BANG, around half way round we could hear some phesants making a fuss and flapping about in the field, intregued we crept up to the low bank and peered through the gap in the low trees, watching the phesants messing about i think the girlfriend wa
