Ok, I may have missed it somewhere as apparently this has been available for about a year, but it's new to me. I was at the Tackle & Gun trade show recently and this came to my attention, it seems to offer a decent package on the face of it, and features largely BSA inspired internals. With a RRP of £399 for the Beech or Tactical, and 110 shots in .22 that seems fair to me for a PCP. I really know nothing about it, except what the gushing Gamo Saleman told me. So, the big question, is it actually any good? Anyone got one and have any comments to make? Cheers

So Who Wants To Release Wolves Back In The Countryside ?
Deker replied to neil cooney's topic in General Talk
There are already wolves in the country in several areas, they are of course in controlled environments and their re-introduction into the wild has been debated over many years. I doubt it will legally happen in my lifetime (or ever) but I suspect the prospect of escapees is very likely. It would certainly be interesting, but to be honest, there are times I get spooked already at night, in the middle of nowhere hearing unfamiliar noises/rustling, the thought that it may be a Wolf would add another dimension. -
Something seems very odd/wrong with your mounts!
-
I have never understood the .177/.22 debate, if you want to buy the Girlie .177 then fine!
-
:hmm: If its in warranty they don't have much choice!
-
There are loads of attempts at permission forms, on line and already pinned/posted here. What exactly does the line, I am fully licenced refer to/mean?
-
Just look out for a decent used .20, it will be cheaper and you will have 2 rifles!
-
Am I missing something here, what calibre is this and what distance are you talking about? On the face of it the obvious response is your scope is Fubared!

We have all done it, but you mean the back, he wants more elevation not less.
-
Only do this if you want the impact point lower.

Replacing A Silencer On Ticket?
Deker replied to shropshire dan's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Absolutely, these are mine, the tube near top right is from a Full length P8, shows how much longer it is, the compact is fine up to .308 with no notable difference in sound reduction, so potentially worth the size/weight saving. -
Replacing A Silencer On Ticket?
Deker replied to shropshire dan's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
If you get the P8 may I suggest the COMPACT version, I converted my .223 from full length to Compact and then bought the compact for my .243 and .308. It works just fine on all of them, although back then UK Custom Shop (Wildcat) suggested .308 was the top for the Compact and you should stick with the full afterwards. The compact saves size and about 170g (from memory) in weight. -
Replacing A Silencer On Ticket?
Deker replied to shropshire dan's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
We are talking about a replacement for an on ticket T8, which is currently fitted to a .243. That isn't fitting an off ticket air rifle mod on a FAC rimfire, and the mods for those "can" be identical anyway. Not many would want to fit an air rifle or rimfire mod on a .243. The legal process remains the same regardless, one of the reasons I said earlier how daft the moderator legislation is! -
Cheers!

Purely out of interest, what happens if you dip it and make a complete pigs ear of it? This is a one shot process by the looks of things, so do you have some magical chemicals to strip the stock again or is it paint stripper/sandpaper/whatever? Cheers
-
Check the metalwork fit, the stock may well need a bit of fettling, then try the rifle. Don't rush into bedding (especially if you've never done it) before you try the rifle. Very few rifles are bedded in the great scheme of things, and frankly very few need it!

Replacing A Silencer On Ticket?
Deker replied to shropshire dan's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
That's what I was thinking on my ticket it just says un named silencer You cannot buy a moderator with the intention of fitting it to a FAC firearm if you don't have a slot for it. -
Replacing A Silencer On Ticket?
Deker replied to shropshire dan's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
That's what I was thinking on my ticket it just says un named silencer Won't the dealer have filled out a form though registering the fact that you've bought one, in which case, the police will know you are in possession of 2, as 2 bought but non scrapped. (I don't know the procedure for moderators but I'm presuming if they're restricted that the dealer will have to notify the sale). Personally, I really can't see why you shouldn't have more than 1, you can't fire a silencer, but there you go. Moderator legislation is daft and silly involved. If an RFD sells a proofed m -
I can't believe the prices of these, CZ Rifles UK have them at £47.95 + £7.95 delivery, and RifleMags at £37.96. As it happens I have a virtually new one spare, and at those prices I could be tempted to part with it, if you're interested in one please PM me for some sensible saving on the above prices. Cheers

1 for 1 variation and give the old one to a RFD to scrap. Total pain and absolutely daft. Edit The P8 is the equivalent of the T8 and is totally strippable, and all parts available separately. -
You have lots of perfectly accurate info on the FAC paperwork issue, you can also send your FAC back to your region and tell them what you have done and they will add it, taking it to a local RFD is probably a better option. As for the viability of FAC air, that is down to the individual. I have 12ft lb, FAC Air, assorted rimfires, centrefires and shotguns. I have a use for my FAC air, but personally, it is probably the rifle I use least.

I'm not following the question, are you talking World Class target or field work? I shoot PRVI SP in .223, .243 and .308 and am perfectly happy with the accuracy and terminal performance of them all, and I can't get 3/4" at 200 yards with any of it!
-
Most forces have done away with the buy and hold conditions. Mine just says how many I can possess. I think you will find they all have as people apply for new grants or renewals on the new forms, this will roll through to everyone over time.

If you are so unsure LEARN TO SHOOT, and stay within the capabilities of yourself and the calibre!. This rubbish about using bigger calibres to make up for the shooters shortcomings is a joke. Why would you want to give an incompetent, and even bigger, and therefore potentially more dangerous calibre, to compensate for their failings? "Dear Mr FEO, I can't shoot very well so can I please have a .308 for rabbits!" This topic will go round and round, as this shows, risen from the ashes again to join the many threads on the same subject.

Thanks for the input and many thanks to several people who got back via PM with offers of help. I now have someone arranged to do the work. Cheers
