  1. My Airsporter is actually a .22 (not 5.5) as far as I'm aware, so it likes the Wasp Blue as they are 5.6mm, without doubt that gives the best energy in mine!
  2. ???????????????? There is almost exclusively only one rat in the UK, the Norwegian or Brown rat, Black rats are very rare and only found in some coastal areas to the best of my knowledge, I've never come across one in many years of doing this?
  3. It will certainly be a surprise to me if England win today! Lets be clear, I wish them well and hope they do, but I have had no faith any England team since about 1966! Despite what a few pundits suggest, this lot still look a shower to me, albeit slightly less of a shower than some previous England teams!
  4. Not something I have come across! As Eddie B says, Ferrets sometimes, so I guess that's close!
  5. Yep, the car thing is daft, haven't actually seen an engine in a car for a long while...actually strike that, here's a very good advert for NOT buying a Land Rover. Actually don't strike that its true, haven't actually seen an engine in a car for a long while...……... ! Yep, that's my NEW Land Rover up in the air having the Balance shafts changed under warranty!!!! ...........................but perhaps we are beginning to wonder a bit!
  6. Life was a lot simpler back then, but we somehow still managed to stop some rabbits. To be honest, I do stop more these days, technology and CNC engineering have definitely helped!
  7. That springer is messing up your proper shooting, your body is expecting that great thump from the bicycle pump with the big spring and it doesn't happen with the 100 (PCP)!
  8. Now you are making me feel really old, £2.00 -£2.50 (500 x .22) back when I got mine, Webley, Milbro, Eley, Bulldog come to mind, to be honest I can't immediately recall any others, someone will remind me! Edit...this lot still sell the wasp for £5.00 http://www.gundeal.co.uk/eley-wasp-.22-air-pellets-500pc-accessory-457 http://outdoorandcountrysports.co.uk/en/air-rifle-pellets/931-eley-wasp-22-air-pellets-500pc.html
  9. I'm more than a little surprised its as low as 170 if the usual rifle fill is 200, that's an enormous drop if it made 200 on the last fill!
  10. I have no spring rifles anymore except my Airsporter, mine from new and bought around 1972 I think. All my others have gone and its PCP now. That's the way for me, but without doubt newer Springers are much better than my Airsporter which just comes out for nostalga really! I look after all my guns, but it's had no tuning and is basically original. I even had the original box (that was in near perfect condition to) until her ladyship had a clear out and threw it away not so long back! It's been worked hard (but not for some years) and last time I checked it was 11
  11. Yep, no argument there either! I really do agree, its a very different type of shooting and a PCP does indeed tend to make you complacent and lazy, especially a multishot, as most all of them are today!
  12. I know exactly what you are saying, perhaps its an age thing, but I prefer a glass of wine on my boat now rather than swimming!
  13. That's better, right or wrong, at least I don't feel dizzy anymore!
  14. No argument here, If you like the springers then good for you, I've been there done that and its PCP for me now, field or target. ATB!
  15. It's time you stopped digging and turned to the next page in the shooting book you are reading! People buy guns and ammo to do a job, a .223 isn't a Ford Mondeo, it is excellent at what it does and also offers an additional and useful degree of flexibility. Mind you a Ford Mondeo is a lot better than some give it credit for as well. You don't get a FAC grant because you simply want something different for show or because you simply find more power entertaining, put that on your application for a FAC for Pest Control and see how far you get!
  16. From its markings and size I would agree, but often difficult to be sure from a picture.
  17. Not to proud of this one (fox) ????????????????? Cub or not, foxes grow up quick!
  18. Steviec That stock fascinates me, hands up I really don't know what its all about, but it is even more obvious from the newer pics above it seems to have had a fair bit of work. Whatever, whoever worked on it seems to have done more than a reasonable job!
  19. Things have definitely picked up here, steady flow now!
  20. It does look tidy, actually in very good condition, and being a Titan rather than a Falcon I suggest somewhat better (more solid) construction! The barrel on mine could double as a Bass Guitar string its that flexible, never ceases to amaze me how it can be so accurate!
  21. Nothing wrong with the .223, its popular because it works and offers flexibility, that's why people buy it!
  22. Apparently a specialized round! That's news to me, it was, and still is pretty popular, and was an accepted deer round some years back!
  23. Come on Alsone……………… You make some cracking assumptions..... But that's because the .223 has military associations (which attracts the associate with the army macho crowd) ! and it simply fits for most people ………….. because it does the job! The majority of people buy the calibre/ammunition that works for them, very few have the need to be that specialized! I take nothing away from those that have a specialized need, but lets not pretend they are popular! As regards your 22-250, you can buy ammo or load a .243 to give 22-250 performance, so why the need, the .243 is far mo
