  1. Theres quite a bit goes on in east europe but you NEED to know what your doing. Ive had tonnes of experience with bops, but i wouldnt dream of getting a goldie for deer, even though ive got the permission. I dont know where you are mate, but you would need to be very remote to even think about it. If its for muntie then it will be no good me thinks, the eagle will need open ground and thats not muntie habitat.
  2. Why not try rabbit curry by using a Jar of sauce? Just cut the rabbit into meat chunks , quickly brown them in the bottom of a pan with oil, then add onions and a jar of tikka massalla and simmer for half an hour. Serve with rice and nan bread, gorgeous. Ps look for my "east rabbit ideas" topic
  3. i liked the programme, if there was a few more like him, the grey could be managed a lot more effectivlely. For the record, ive done both the sack and priest and the gun to dispatch. The sack looks more proffessional, but both do the job.
  4. I think its a good idea but i doubt i will ever see myself using one. I try to only do around 2-4 fields at any one time on each farm and once the field/s are cleared i will move on to the next ones, this way, using say 30 traps or so per field, i dont have too many traps set in one area as i have had plenty stolen and losing too many can seriously harm your wealth! Simpy writing how many per field on a piece of paper, and using bamboo markers for the traps is just fine for me , but i applaud your ingenuity.
  5. I will have it if worlds number 1 hunter decides not to buy
  6. Now mate, They are 2 completely different birds mate. What have you got now?

    diffrent quarry

Depending on how well the owner/trainer is, the range is quite broad. If you are starting out and are sick of catching rabbit try moorhen for a change. MHH's will catch songbirds, maggies, and possibly pheasant, hare and squirrel but obviously it depends on various factors therefore any list is by no means sacrosanct. Fhh's will catch roughly the same, but will be better equipped for the larger quarry.

    advice please

If your only learning i would imagine "understanding birds of prey" would be much too much. Its an absolutly great book but certainly not for begginners. Emma fords art and practice covers everything and would be my advice. trappa
  11. Its impossible to be 100% sure there arent animals in the setts. They are soooo wrong. I was surprised they were given clearance to be used in britain.
  12. Apparently its quite effective. Whats the stungun saga?? i havent heard of this??
  13. Quite coincidentally i was just shown chinning today!!!! Ive always stretched them and never had a problem but ive been out all day with an absolute top lad, and i asked him about how he was necking them as i hadnt seen it before. he showed me and i tried it and found it to be much easier than stretching their necks.
  14. No mate i used a frying pan, but i guess there is no reason why you cant use a deep fat frier. I just fried for about 5 mins turning a few times. I just guessed when it was done, i suppose you could just take one out and cut it in half after 5 mins or so to see when its cooked.
  15. It dont need a recipe fidgety its that easy. Like the first post, get some chunks of rabbit meat, marinade in soy sauce or regggae reggae sauce for half an hour. Dip them in plain flour, then dip in beaten egg and roll in breadcrumbs ( i got some golden breadcrumbs from morisons) then shallow fry for a bit. My kids are demanding it for dinner again, they taste that good!!
  16. Ive got a magnetic sign on my freelander, that way its a pesty van one day, the family car the next. Ive had jobs from people driving past and seeing the sign so i can vouch for their worth, but depending on where you live it might get damaged. Also like its been said, some clientele dont like to advertise they have rats/ mice trappa
  17. Get some books mate and read them thoroughly. Ask loads of questions, it doesnt matter if they sound daft, we were all there once!
  18. I had a similar problem with my .223 and the majority of people i spoke to said i might not be cleaning the chamber well enough. I dont know your situation properly but i think that if it isnt ejecting properly then a dirty chamber is the number one cause.
  19. totally agree bud. I try to stick a few photos up, its nice to see how others do it.
  20. I saw them quasar, they looked lovely, exactly like kfc i thought. My rabbit was boneless chunks, i marinaded them in soy sauce for an hour the rolled them in plain flour, then dipped in beaten egg and rolled in golden breadcrumbs. And fried for a while- i thought they were as good as anything bought in a shop-but im biased!
  21. Cheers jack. it was a bit of cheat as i used frozen pastry but sod it, im all for an easy life! Tasted gorgeous too!
  22. I dont usually hang them, just cook straight away or de-breast them if ive got plenty, then freeze the breast. I shot a couple on the first shoot of the season and hung them for 2 weeks. They were covered in maggots and smelt awful so ended up as ferret food I wont be hanging again!
  23. Baked a rabbit pie today for a change. I dont do this normally as i like to try newer recipes and ideas but fancied a pie for tea!! I used veg stock and a tin of peas to add colour and flavour and it was a real success. Im waiting for the scottish tablet to come out now! photo to follow
  24. Tried some fried rabbit today. Total plagiarism on my part, i copied the squirrel popcorn recipe but used rabbit instead. Really really nice, the kids loved it!
