  1. Cheers butch. Whats the crack with the different coloured handles mate?
  2. Cheers chid, i will order it tomorrow bud
  3. Anyone got one?? Im looking for a decent knife that doesnt cost the earth as i have a tendency to lose them. They are only pennies so dont know whether this is a good or bad thing. And also whats the crack with the colour coded handles??? cheers boys
  4. Could someone give me some guidance regarding training my new charge. Training dogs is something im pretty new at. What age should i start to train him for the field at? and what should i be getting him to do? im sounding like a right novice here (and i am) but im wanting to do it right, not just bumble along and end up with a dog doing what it wants when it wants. He is 12 weeks or so at the moment and he is retrieving tennis balls-thats it. Should i be trying the sit, stay commands etc now or leave it? Thanks for helping
  5. Ive got the "style" in .22 but was having a play with my mates .17hmr and was very impressed. Im seriously thinking of asking for one put on my licence. We shot a few rabbits at around 90 yards and upon collecting the rabbit, their heads were like mush! Serious piece of equipment, and not as loud as i imagined.
  6. So what is your interpretation of that mate? Seems to me that there would have to be a case in law to decide if a fox is vermin or not? Don't want to be a player in that one tho' The thing is..........my 22lr states vermin and small ground game which one could reasonably think that vermin equates to fox BUT my .223 stipulates fox specifically!?! which possibly suggests to me that my 22lr doesnt cover fox ?!? Im lost now!
  7. i just meant that where you said " whats the point of swapping a calibre for the same calibre" that what sometimes happens is for some reason you may not be happy with the gun, not the calibre, and request a swap, thats all. I nearly asked for a swap for my .223 to another .223 a few months ago as i was having trouble with the gun, but was very happy with the calibre
  8. my 22lr is on an open ticket and states for vermin and small ground game.
  9. just ask for a "one for one" they wont be any charge, well my feo didnt charge... You can do a variation but they will charge. The free one for one is for when you swap like for like .222 for another.222 it depends what your firearms officer is like!! what you on about ? what would be the point of swapping a calibre for the same calibre ?? a one for one is to swap over two different calibres.. i recently done a one for one from a .38/357 to a .22 with no charge, that is classed as a one for one. i think what he means is if you have a .223 in say, a wood stock, but r
  10. As long as they have been gutted they will be fine, ive eaten last years rabbit and been fine. get tucked in!!!
  11. We do have to be careful with children. My daughter was about 5 when we had a particularly nasty "incident" with a slightly imprinted harris. She is 11 now and fine with birds, but it cannot be stressed enough that birds of prey are killers and can never be trusted 100%
  12. Cheers ess. I will be doing a lot of shooting as well flying over him. Im going to have a look through some old topics mate
  13. Think i might, just thought someone on here would be wanting one.
  14. Lol. It cant be any bitchier than the falconry section surely! Its a pup i bought, he is 11 weeks or so.
  15. Hi all. Im new to this section, but , having bought a GSP last week, i think i might be a regular here. Im into falconry and am hoping my new charge will aid me well (not flying right now, but should be come spring). Also do a LOT of mole trapping and rabbit shooting. I realise the dog wont do me much good moling, but should make for good company. Ant tips or links on training are very welcome. trappa
  16. watched it for the first time the other night (rabbits). Thought it was pretty good. the dumb blonde probably did more for shooting than against it, she looked as thick as two short planks and it showed. They have to have some antis on just to give a reasoned balance but on the whole , thought it was good.
  17. I used it on orange, nt sure about other networks.trappa
  18. A while ago the police were given new powers under some "terrorism act" to spy on people - it was brought in specifically for suspected terrorrists etc. Our council have been using this new act to spy on people suspected of letting their dog crap on the street! nuff said.
  19. Just "now and again", cant be more precise than that. Last time i went out i shot aroun a box of carts and it "d-d" twice, time before that It was twice. I got told it was prob something to do with oil. Its nothing really as it just costs you 2 carts now and again rather than one. I wouldnt get rid normally as its a great rough gun, but ive got to get rid of one gun to get another (small cabinet) and i want another .410
  20. Yes, now and again both go off.
  21. Still for sale, £60 posted
  22. Added some photos (badly!!) The gun is in good nick apart from the double discharging now and again and the butt plate is smashed as you can see, which will be pennies in a gunshop im sure so there is a great bargain for someone- ideal rough shooting gun.
