    The JRTs Clubs over here have racing at the shows. I've seen dogs I know have whip or Itailan GH in them. So I would bet the farm that some of these big racing dog breeders have a 3/4 stud dog laying around

    When I raced Greyhounds at the kennel the dogs were feed a mix of muscle and organ with a high quality dry mixed for carbs [energy] in an 80/20 % mixture.

    Feeding raw is great if done in the proper proportions, but it’s just that…getting it right. There’s different flesh you can feed a performance dog all which are necessary, muscle, organ all will benefit a dog. But if you think of it this way when a fox, coyote and wolf eat at a kill they are getting it all. Hair, bone, organ and muscle meat. Plus what ever the herbivore has in its intestinal track which is also very important for a balanced diet.

    Great post and i agree 100%. Most that are down on using a pure racing dog are like sheep and just follow what they have heard or was told . It be a different story if they actaully got there hands dirty and raised a few.

    Out by me there's a Nick bred male right from him. I've never seen him personally but some of his off spring and also heard from a trusted friend he never mad a bad move. Good Luck with that breeding.

    Person who got me into sighthounds had a collie dog that was a KILLER in its life time probably dispatched well over 1000 groundhogs plus coons,fox,bunnies and deer. We would every spring go on a call outs to farmers and get a jump on these groundhogs and catch young. For fun some would get raised in the house and be taught to use a litter box and other tricks. that Lurcher would not touch any peice of game inside that house ever.     Right on the fu*ckin money its difficult to say as what would you blame for the dogs not turning out all that good the owners or the breeding. a good dog man can make a o.k dog out of a not so well bred pup and a bad dog man can make a shit dog out of a well bred pup. Its odd to me that so many on here blame the owners of the dog. It just aint so folks.     For one the Japanese Akitas are radio active. IMO if you are serious about working terriers you should not put heat on them when in the kennel. A working terrier makes his living in extreme conditions and should be prepared for those temperatures. I have visited several kennels that the dogs live in 0 Fahrenheit for weeks during the winter. They are usually fed wet and have very tight housing allowing them to stay comfortable. If I lived in those conditions and had a proper kennel I might heat it to 35 Fahrenheit just to keep the water from freezing. Other wise I put a lamp on/or bring a

    IF YOU KEEP BREEDING LURCHER TO LURCHER YOU GET REGRESSION & LOSE SHARPNESS & PACE. COL TED WALSH STATED THIS YEARS AGO THAT YOU NEEDED TO BREED IN PURE SIGHTHOUND EVERY FEW GENERATIONS. YOU WILL SEE MORE OF THIS AS THE LURCHER GENE POOL DIMINISHES UNDER CURRENT LEGISLATION OPT-Dam straight as long as the breedings taking place are utilizing the right dogs, especialy the Greyhound side.
