  1. have used “track blood†several times. It’s really just a question using the right dogs/blood... Most of the breeding I see are dogs that come off due to injury or grade off. Since it was on the track it must be good enough to breed lol. This is so far from the truth and it’s laughable. I look at the feet and its temperament but more importantly if I can, I’ll give it a piece of game and see were its head is at. I don’t care if it’s a track record holder if it isn’t putting its ivory into fur I’m not breeding to it. I also have raised several track bred dogs from pupsâ€
  2. Thats a bit contraversal mate..... could never imagine why any coursing man wouldn't want their money makers to come into season......... BAW-they use the "vet " version here in the states to keep bitchs racing. When a bitch comes off the track its good to let her cycle one season before breeding. In a racing kennel you cant have dogs in,comming in,going out of heat as it leads to a shit loads of dog fighting and other BS that goes along with dogs in heat.
  3. Thinking the same thing, Nice vid though! My brother spent a month there Wrestling said the country was very nice.
  4. In the ground an adult can be tough on a terrier IF the terrier gets rough on the coon. But 9 times out of 10 they give out what there getting. A bayer, and they will sulk up then it’s a dig right down and game over. Above ground they'll climb if they can to get away. Most who work terriers here in the states above ground always have more then one terrier down, dogs are big usually and just lock him down after a little grab assign. Chances are though you’ll never find those breeding pairs as they will take to tree dens. There is plenty of opportunity to take the best den sites with no pres
  5. Mosby I never gotten a beaver with terriers but he is talking about a coon.
  6. Pup located it in a beaver den and they both drew it out above ground? Usually it would all take place in the ground......
  7. 3 dog that know there job. Ground looks like nice running.
  8. I've seen several APBTs on "cycles" during thier keep. Using steriods on any performance animal is nothing new. Look at the jenny pit for greyhounds. I never saw them used though in running hunting dogs types or terriers for hunting. I would imagine if the stuff was used it be for a single event. Even use the stuff in foxhounds over here when competing in the "pen" Trials.
  9. Raymond I'd be interested on how he did this season.
  10. I was watching “Over Haul†a car rehab show here in the states and the sound tec built a custom box for the sub-enclosure in the trunk. It got me thinking why you couldn’t make a ferret box the same way. It could be made any custom size, water proof and light weight I would think. Here a link to making a sub enclosure the ferret box would be made on the same principle. -Stunt
  11. Collie Xs is my first love Stag Hounds is what I keep now.
  12. read your post, and to be honest mate as the dog (wont) see a alot of work + and live in your house. I would go more for a whippet+grey type dog, be easier to live with+smaller than a colliexgrey. Ive had quite few lurchers over the years, and colliexs do need alot of work really, so i do think a whippetxgrey type would be better for you. as yout saw one of my dogs on your post(3/8 collie 5/8 grey) they are big dogs, and a 1/4 collie 3/4 grey will be as big. My dog now 1x colliexgrey Bryn is 25in 58lb, smaller than the above xs but still a big dog. ( none hancocks) all local bred dogs Bry
  13. A very special chocolate one , very rare next to the blues we have in the states....
  14. i have a hard dog at home he s never bayed once couldnt put him in without collar on could only work him once every 5 to 6 weeks not ideal but comes in handy from time to time Hack a truer post than I've ever heard. Waz- that pic of that dig is great Swag-I was into terriers before the WWW. came along. An us here in the states use to wait every month for "Earth Dog /Running Dog" and read it cover to cover 10 times. What I remember the most was the stories of the hunt service terriers that worked steady all season. When you could go out there and not have to

  18. Mosby- slow right now coyotes are all about over with the mud here and stuff. I think we are going to OR. in two weeks to hunt a ranch out there. Rockchucks are out here also for the small terriers.

  22. Stag-forget line/strains go to a hunter thats putting up the numbers and isnt a once a month hunter.
  23. Abley- The best firewood is of coarse hardwood which you have but it should also have good moisture content. By that I mean if you let it dry to long its overall burn wouldn’t put the BTU’s out and be very fast. I like to cut /split in the late winter/spring stack and cover. Let the air blow through and it can be burned in the fall.
