  1. Day old, pull nail then crush pad with a curved hemostat as close to leg as possible, antiseptic powder like airbourne said. Never ever had a problem.
  2. When I'm trying to get one that is off his food, check the obvious then a shot of B-12 or B complex it gets the appetite going good. About 1ml per 50lbs. is what I do. Good luck!
  3. Ditto that bird nice looking lurcher there. I like 1/4, that or close to it has served me well for a long time Wait mabey I dont know any better
  4. Sell them to fur buyer 30-35 average U.S. 113 has been put up this year by MC.
  5. I'm not into those Hare dogs but that is a NICE looking pup! Good luck with him
  6. Thanks guys. I think its the last big hunt for my Collie dog, getting a little old for that heavey lifting. I have a nice Hot Blood Greyhound bitch I'll line him to and he can help start my Stag pups from the breeding Dan and I did back last year.
  7. We had good time today with Doc, Capps, MC Hammer and Raptor made the trip from Cali. Had 3 sets of dogs and each caught two. Some very nice l o n g runs were observed and the conditions were perfect. Came pretty close to killing my lurcher as the ol fellow almost over heated , I 'm sure everybody sleeping tonight, some could go tomorrow some not lol. Speedy with a crippled one skinning the the days take Blue Duck and a young July X Running Walker foxhound The crew with the take
  8. Teckel crossed with a patterdale, the patterdale was old Nuttal blood and the ones that were hunted did well on N.Eastern game in the states.
  9. Besides that priest showning me I had lead in my pencil My first dog was a golden retriever and I would climb rail way tressels and catch pigeons to train her, I didnt know what I was doing but I has fun!
  10. This has nothing to do with your post, mabey a little. I hunted with one many years ago and he was alright. He was a little more independent than the BC Xs but made up for it with endurance, but I'm going off one dog though. What made me respond to this thread was a friend invited me to his ranch this past weekend after hunting to watch his Kelpies work. While there he had what he called Fuzzy's locked up. I asked Him "what are these" went on to explain a certain type of herding/catch dog for cattle that he uses on his range cows. They looked just like a beardie. They looked to be tuff lilttle
  11. This topic should be pinned This about the 100th time its been asked. mrmen16 if your asking then you know and if you dont know now you do, dont !, even if you are a half ass dog whisper
  12. Bob over in the UK they been using the terrier/lurcher combo alot longer that you and I have been alive, so if you think you got it figured out with and extra terrier more power to ya. The rest I just dont get I had to go back and read my last post 5 times as I thought I didnt make any sence. But ya 4ft dirt /rock hole is a HUGE difference then 4ft down in a floor{what floor is 4ft deep?} anyway I'll go with it. If I lived in barn/building country I could crush coons over a winter blind folded hunting in barns , Hell Kye did that in a weekend ! 186 is a respecble number and again I NOT putt
  13. stunt, i would say 20% of the time he finishes before i get there... 75% of the time with another. i still don't think i need a 60lb lurch doin the terriers job.i would rather 3 20lb terriers or 4 15lb terriers... thats still the same right?[ Wrong Bob,How does a 60lb lurcher do a terriers job lol. How does he fit? I need 1 terrier to find , fit and stay till I get there, when I get there its job is over. The lurchers always there for bolters or drawing if I need him. According to your numbers you put up above the terrier or terriers dont dispatched everyone and you dont need a lurcher yo
  14. Saw some here in the states more intersted in dog fighting than fur. Way to big also draw dogs only.
  15. BOB-How many are these barn/building coons are dispatched by the terrier one on one? I see alot of human intervention in most of these post and there was when I barn hunted 20,10,2 years ago. Kye or somebody put a post up recently on here with 79 coons in two days 1 hour. I'm sure he has very good terriers, but I know what happens to a dog with one hard coon in a 4ft hole. When you break through with the shovel, pry the floor boards or move the hay Terrier's job over imo. i agree 100%. i cant speak for others but i really don't want a straight bayer, then you have to get a 6
  16. I bet if you GOOGLED Mother Tersa some porn would come up But KOS stands for "King Of Spades"
  17. Richlee thanks for the info I still have my shovel from 1998!
  18. Coyote hunter being from UK and a Huntsman, do you consider "barn work" proper terrier work?
  19. Scent when your friends Whippet was in his prime how fast afer the catch did it take to end it on average. Stunt
  20. Scent- I think I know whos the guy in your avatar Havnt seen much of that here in the the states but we used to run T. Lewis whippets from OR. Some of those males could take a fox but it wasnt pretty. A budd from NY put patterdale, GH, Apbt into Tony's dogs and they were a little more durable, slower but not any rougher than the originals. The run ups and coarsing was the best but the catchs looked like two cats fighting/f*cking
  21. Nice haul bird! Are all those sheep married any single?
  22. History-Its not so much in or out , but YOU and what you put into them. Road them, train them and expose them everyday and if bred right your hard work will be forgotton pain and paid back to you 10x.. The only pro I've seen to keeping them outside is one weather conditioning, two if kept in a large area in the down time they tend to move around a little more especially if kept with another dog. good luck stunt
