  1. I will when you tell me how many you have actually hunted and hunted for "Real". Easly over a dozen myself and hunted with another 2 dozen that friends owned on a regular basis. So lets hear it Mr. "Internet Sighthound" sing me a song.
  2. I agree 100%. Folks that think they will kill over and over again are dreamers. They will quit.......and quit fast on my yard. I have only seen one dog that never quit....every other one has quit. The more greyhound thats in them.....the faster it shows. Dan why dont you tell us how many GHs youve handled Real greyhounds. When you come up with a number I'll tell you how many walker coonhounds I've owned,,,,,,holy shit With the last few post on here I cant believe the shit I'm reading.
  3. Dan Edawrds Stags both brother and sister, Blue and Red, When the game pushed back they pushed you out of the way and b-lined it to the truck. Uphill Doc's Grace dog, no collie blood the dog could barley find the food bowl never mind fur.
  4. Friend went th DH's and propbably brought back littermates to yours lol. Well anyway they were bred the same way and one ended up in a Huntsman's hands called Ben Hardaway both dogs were the real deal Keeper thae male was on 1000s of peices of game from bunny's to bears. Poacher the bitch that went to Ben he used on coyotes and ended up breeding it tho a Staghound. I have dogs down from that breeding serving me well at 8 years? I think.
  5. All day long Dotty! When I see a terrier that has a knack for making critters come out its getting bred.
  6. IDE- I agree, BullXs arent a big thing here in the states so I really cant comment from experiance but I would imagine quite a few Staffs get bred to sight hounds just because they are "Staffs" in the UK. Fewer than few I would wager have seen the "work" that would qualify them to be bred to an equal in sighthound field. Edit to add thats what happens here with the greyhounds...."its a greyhound it must be fast"
  7. The first line is true as true can be BUT>>>>>>>>>>>>> Most here in the states don’t even know what a "good" GH is. Dogs that don’t make the track because of there physical ability or that physiological [temperament} can’t make the track get passed around out here like candy. That’s were the worker to worker bit comes in. Most of the greyhounds never “workedâ€. I was in the racing biz for a little bit and the bitchs that you would want to breed to make A, AA pups don’t grow on trees and sure as shit don’t show up at a sale to be bought and
  8. Work well.Tri-Tronics, Inno tec are top models. I like a dog to wear a "dummy" collar for a week or two before the real one goes on. I've had dogs know when to bark and not plus you cant leve the real one on all the time as it will rub holes in the dogs neck. Stay away from any collar that dosnt have rechargble battery.- Stunt
  9. IDE-Gimp is around 40 lbs. So if ONE coyote gave him a hard time I wouldnt sweat it to bad but they are dening now and having pups. This is the time they get real aggressive and two would streach his ass for sure.
  10. Lost a young terrier out in this 7 hrs of looking, around 100 miles on the truck, stopped around 10pm last night. Found him at 10:30am this morning. He dodged coyotes and mountain lions last night so I'm feeling pretty lucky today. I'm hoping he'll make the grade and be able to work some coyotes next year when the Stags/hounds put them to ground.
  11. Certainly not at 11 months old? What makes you think this is even an idea worth considering? Give her four or five seasons hard graft, see how she turns out and maybe then you could think again eh? I'd love to see the dog that can live for 4 or 5 seasons of "hard graft". It must be a language barrier or something cuz I doubt if this dog exists and if it does its as rare as rockin horse shit. Depends what your grafting at don't it. Seasons are just a number anyhow, one man has a dog he takes out twice a week for 4 seasons, and another takes his out 6 times a week for 2 se
  12. It really depends on your kennel/housing situation. Males /Females both have pros an cons. But I'll take the best pup from the litter.....dosnt matter what sex it is.
  13. Nice pics an the some of the nicest whippets I've seen on here in a long time.
  14. Dont be a pussy, open it up and and just do it already.
  15. I like it mud! nice one. The deepest/longest was to a JRT that went in a bank and got into a tussel with a fox and some soft stuff fell behind him, hence stuck. Happen at late afternoon and the next morning we were there. Dug 30ft straight back give or take a few feet in soft sand by noon we had 15 diggers there and a bucket system going got the dog out at 600pm in good condition. I was out for a foxhunt with the NBP in Pa. Hounds ran a nice one in after some great running . I was on foot and had my Den Terrier with me called Gwen. I entered her and she went off the box straight away. The

  17. Never messured it didnt have to he went anywhere at six lbs. BTW she was a he and he got hit by a car two months ago
  18. Hows your dogs stopper pads after wards and their feet? A buddy an me ran a yote in November right on the edge of a cayon next to the Snake River, we ran two or three dogs and torn them up bad. If you go threw my hunting pics on here you'll see we had them Vet-Rapped the rest of the years as they were never right till they got laid off for a month. That red/tan dog is a stud that was in the front most of the vid. But I have to say I was laughing the whole time as I was waiting fro the 1000 lb. J-DAM or PREDATOR strike to hit and blow up the convoy
  19. Mud - it dosnt sound like much of a problem to us does it? In the States most need smaller type dogs if they are serious about digging. In the barns and old houses it really dont matter much. I've used dogs as small as 6lbs. seen dogs as little as four on cottontail rabbits. But my favorite is 8-10 lb. dog. 6lb "Lil G" 4 lb "misty" this fire ball could kill a lurcher If you dropped her in a good spot there wasnt a rabbit that was safe and they be bolting everywhere, hence run you lurcher to death lol.
  20. We chase coyotes over rougher ground than that in the video above. I'll have to get a up close pic of some of the ground we run on with the lava rock some time. I've ran stags in west OK./east Texas and some was bad but not like it is here. Feet are very important no doubt, but in that vid its almost running on a beach.
  21. Like your Harris in your avatar nice dog to do you hunt them together.
  22. Malt thats how its done imo. I've done every deal possible and I'm not afraid to drop some coins or drive 24hrs round trip strait on a good dog. Thats how better dogs are made. But one thing I do is I'm up front with Stud's owner on the deal and seal it with a hand shake, NEVER NEVER leave with the bitch with out the details straighten out. That is the quickest way lose a friend or jam yourself up.
  23. Not a good one..... An October's White Tailed Jack in North Dakota an thats pre-dam, hot dam ,gad-dam
