You can tell that a mile off mate. It costs me £100 to fill my truck up and about £150-200 a corner to put tyres on it. So I can’t put four new tyres on the truck for the cost of one of those pups ..... the tyres will last a year if I’m lucky but most likely one will go pop within a few months. -

Amazes me how much folk moan a little paying for running dogs ? them pups are crackers. -
I know of a litter of Beddy whippet x Beddy whippet / collie grey on the ground. Lad does a lot of ferreting and rabbiting.

And I’d found you that Lurcher pup you wanted. ? was looking forward to watching you enjoy it. John came with me to pick up my first proper Lurcher pup many years ago. We put some miles in abs caught some stuff, and I’ll never forget Sunday evenings sat in his kitchen, kids abs dogs everywhere, John sat there beaming with a roll up in one hand abs a can of bow in the other reliving the days hunting. Go steady up there mate, they are the ready for as big a character as you yet!

Life is a massive steaming pile of sh*t sometimes. Absolutely gutted. Rest in peace old friend. We had some great adventures and I promise you’ll never be forgotten.

Find some of this diet shit interesting. I eat a normal balanced diet including plenty of shit, snacks, beer etc.... oh and I smoke a bit. Still can physically out last most folk I know, and would consider myself pretty fit. They key I think is being very active in a wide range of ways. My biggest issue is my body has taken a physical beating over the years ?

My gran was a normal person. She was sick, dying too young from illness in hospital. It was the time of ten great strikes to save the common, normal folk from the rich. Reality is my gran lay in a dirty hospital bed, with no one helping her, or changing the sheets etc and no food. Because the hospital porters etc were on strike. My dad and his brother went to the hospital with bed sheet, other stuff, food etc. Head hospital Porter said, you can’t come in here mate, we are on strike and no one is touching nowt. My old man and his brother just dropped the little pr*ck and went about helping thei

Most of the knob heads probably haven’t read many books mate ...... fiction or otherwise

Whatever you say about Plummer etc, and fantasist he may have been, but his books did inspire a lot of young lads to get a dog and get out there, and for their time they read well and the photos were good. Just got to take them for what they are, a bit of light hearted hunting themed entertainment.

You’re either a member on here having a good laugh and keeping us entertained for the summer, or you’re a very strange human being. My guess is that it’s the former, and the closest thing you’ve come to a ‘bow line’, is the row of empty strong bow cans lined up in front of you.

Who the f*ck wants to be truly trusted as a reputable breeding authority?

I can’t work out if this is a joke or you are an idiot ? Greyhounds and whippets are fast. No sh*t. Litters of grews are typey. No sh*t. Your line is based on a first x between a whippet and a grey, but you’ve not bred it yet and Hancock is your hero. Go to bed.

Aye I know it wasn’t a trick question mate and I’m not being funny. Just my thinking is this - if you breed a decent litter there is usually a fair bit of thinking and planning that goes into it. Assuming you have any mates who are serious into running their dogs, which I’d think most folk have a few ? Maybe not, but I’ve a few and I’m chronically anti social ? then my thinking was, if you’ve planned the breeding and the dogs are decent etc, you’d be able to put a few about with your circle? obviously the litters of 10, 13 etc are a bit of a nightmare. But 6,7, 8 pups, you’d like to think you’

Agreed ...... to a point ....... but plenty of genuine lads have voiced an interest in trying one for work ..... and the answer is always the same - you can’t have one and if you want one it’s mega bucks.
-
I do get what you’re saying. And it’s going to be hard with any kind of big litter, which obviously Lurchers can be prone to. But you keep saying “you’ve got to be known by loads of lads”, what counts as loads ? I’m pretty anti social, don’t like people very much and don’t associate with many dog lads, but still over the years I have probably come to know a dozen folk who are sound and who between them probably know a small handful more. Obviously timing is a difficult thing as often it’s not right time for a pup for everyone at same time. But if the dogs really are good, real good animals, an

Deffo still some good guys out there doing it for all of the right reasons. Just got back from a 600 mile round trip for this little one.

I think pets and working dogs two different things. Anyone trying to money off bumping out litters of working dogs they only bred cos prices are up ..... not for me. But any genuine lad is a bit stuck now if they have any spare pups abs don’t want to punt them for top dollar. You always run the risk of them getting sold on. Best to plan it out abs only breed what has more homes than you will have pups.
-
Interesting thought - what is a pet dog beloved by the whole family and providing a decades companionship, entertainment, security and exercise etc worth ?
-
Plenty of folk home litters close about them with mates and their circle. Not always possible with a big litter I know abs they do dissapear into the ether. But the only way to find out what you’re breeding is to keep tabs and see them down the line.

Not necessarily gone
