They want to go mate, they are two teenagers and have asked if they could come along as a bit of a tribute, and to see the lads and kids they’ve become friendly with. I wasn’t sure which way it would go, but if that’s what they want, I will make it happen. And be there for some emotional support along the way!

It’s funny, it’s a bit of an issue isn’t it. Lots of places getting to the point where you can come unstuck very quickly just taking the dog for a quiet stroll middle of the day. -
I don’t know mate. It was the first thing I thought, to get a metal bench made, with an inscription on it and concrete it into the ground half way up the mountain above where he grew up. I ran it by his Mrs and she wasn’t so sure, but it’s early days. We will deffo come up with something fitting.

Me and Owain had a stomp up on John’s mountain yesterday, and I think some kind of plaque up there would be a great idea.

I meant to say above, the main thing that the kids asked when we saw them, is could anyone who has any photos and especially videos with John in them, could they please forward them to me or Wales1234 (drop one of us a pm for a number), so that we can pass them on. The idea of forgetting things like the sound of their dads voice is a hard one, but there must be a few videos out there of John at the fishing competition etc which would be lovely for them to have.

Is this another kind of nostalgic thing ? Where deer hound xs are as good as anything that’s got a chunk of grey and reared right? But no better ? Don’t see anyone running them much now and the ‘great’ ones are all long dead and just memories.

Well, made the long drive home yesterday. Me and John were very close mates for a lot of years, sadly when I moved away we drifted further apart, but sadly that’s life. I’ve got so many good memories of the times we spent together, some I’ll share here at some point. But we spent a hell of a lot of time stomping hills and fields together and occasionally even stranger places like Alton towers! His kids were a big part of my life for a lot of years. Bull grey with a little dash of beardie back on sires side. Dam is belly sister to the white bull x bitch I lost at the start of last season, both bred by my mate wales1234 on here out of his old 5/8 bull 3/8 grey bitch xena who was a class act. I have pretty high hopes for her, and so far she’s the most forward pup I’ve ever had.
