  1. No need to get defensive sweet cheeks. Are you honestly trying to debate that a lot of the lads with Lurchers out and about are idiots? I’ve hunted with dogs longer than I’ve been a farmer, and can see both sides. A lot Land owners and keepers are d*cks to, most people are d*cks to be fair. But the greatest enemy of most lads with Lurchers are the morons on Snapchat / tick tock etc making lame Videos With gangster rap sound tracks.
  2. To be fair the future is looking quite bright with regard to access to land for a lot of folk, rewilding and carbon credit schemes mean a fair bit of land is going to get taken out of production and left to go wild / to sh*t depending how you see it, so will be lots of places for a mooch about.
  3. Two main issues 1. The wrong people now own a large chunk of the countryside 2. A lot / most lads with Lurchers are bell ends
  4. Aye then it’s just a line they use to sell dogs ? rather than a line of dogs.
  5. How do you know this? Just curious? Or do you mean someone else has told You / said, dogs cannot feel Jealousy ?
  6. Sounds like the staff is his Mrs dog and has been allowed to do what’s likes, when it likes. Dog is set in its way, you will either need to keep theM welL apart as you won’t be able to ever trust her left with the pup, or kennel / crate pup abs just leave the staff to be a wanker in the house. A good lesson that if you’re gonna get a bull type or whatever cos you fancy one as a house pet, put some time into giving it manners from Day one.
  7. 3/4 collie too slow for most stuff on most ground. Smart dogs sure and make a good mooched and good ferreter but then so does a pure collie.
  8. Good answer, I was just curious. The bit I don’t get re the culling, is most of the time I’ve seen real good litters, there aren’t usually many pups spare so it’s a moot point anyway.
  9. Serious question - do you reckon the pups are better off dead in a bucket of in a pet home that pampers them ???
  10. Mad ain’t it how quick most folks morals can be bought! However there are some good lads out there, since all of this shit had started, I’ve had a couple of pups near enough gifted to me, bred a litter of terriers (which some members on here have), which I solD for pre COVID prices (cost of jabs, docking etc ) and am off to pick up a pup on Sunday for nowt, and just about to give a lad a beagle x pup when it’s weaned. Also just lined a Lurcher bitch who’s pups will be gifted. Just got to keep away from the peddlers.
  11. Think I’ve mentioned it on here before, there was a smart red abs white collie bitch which got top Price in one of the big sheep dog sales, can’t remember which but I think skipton. Anyway, she went to a fecking breeding home for 20 odd grand, seems mad but they were gonna end up pumping a litter out of her at £2500-3000 a pup and pay for her and then keep on pumping pups out. I don’t mind paying good money -£5000-£10,000 for something real special, I been offered that kind of money for some of my dogs (they old now and worth £8.50 I expect lol) and it’s what a real good dog is worth. But not
  12. It’s real sad isn’t it, I’ve often fancied one for working the cows etc. But it’s a waste of time now, with the prices. But then again, collies are going the same way. Work dogs peddled as fashion accessories and reduced to messed up pets. Sad old world.
  13. I was thinking of using it for moving cows ? just me then....... ?
  14. Ah right, looks very similar and same age as a litter my mate bred here. Smart young dog you’ve got.
  15. F*ck me, you must be almost pure saluki then.
  16. Sorry that wasn’t aimed at you mate. Just folk talking about different lines etc. I would think a whippet x grey would be one of the most straight forward x bred running dogs to get right. Both sides are fast as hell and both sides usually have high prey drive. My only concern would be keeping them in one piece, I’d think most half decent greys x most half decent whippets would make some good sporting little dogs that would have a crack at most stuff and be quick enough to over haul whatever they wanted to get to.
  17. Both birches belong to two members on here. You might recognise the blue bitch from a recent topic
  18. It’s a whippet x a greyhound ..... how much can you possibly get wrong ?
  19. Im just going to leave that there. Yer its EXACTLY the same as running big ungulates across open scottish moorland.
  20. I hazard a guess at the valleys ?
  21. They have been purpose bred for bushing on top mate, and discouraged from going to ground. However, the line started with two black fell type earth dogs, and if they run a fox in or find one in, the blood remembers ? the old tan bitch is prone to vanishing but we try not to dig them, they usually either bolt them or you walk away and eventually she comes out. I have a feeling the pup will take after the old dog, she’s a little terror already. She’s five months, been out last two days for about four hours a time, in and out of cover etc. At the end of today she vanished, major panic, we sp
