  1. cant get my head round this a hunting forum, and we have people wanting to raise a pest species, that have been orphaned due to "us" killing the parents, I'm struggling as well - I thought it was a wind up at first Guilty reared a young fox from about three weeks to a year old.Mind you i was only fourteen at the time. Catcher 1 I was about the same age when I reared a young rook. Rufus was his name, I'd have shot the fecker now! Cheers, D.

  5. finding the tube... Thanks GTG1. So similar to how we would use a digging bar then. No mate. A T bar is a "delicate" instrument for locating the whereabouts of of a tube, sometimes hollow, not like the more robust bars we use for breaking hard ground and loosening stones when digging. Absolutely fabulous looking T bar GTG, I wouldn't want to put that in the ground it's a work of art. Cheers, D. PS has anybody mentioned bog roll? Thanks Dytkos. Why bring an extra piece of kit to the field when the digging bar could do the same thing (obviously handling it gently when sear
  6. Yeah, ive used some 4inch duck't Lookin good mate, space is one of the keys to good ferrets. Takes longer to clean up after them but you'll benefit from it. Cheers, D.

  11. Took the back seats out of mine, panelled it out and dog cage in the back. It's a one man motor or 2 at the best. Graft to get 2 people, ferrets, 2 dogs and all the gear. Specially if your coming home with several rabs but otherwise, the biz! Cheers, D.
  12. They are very good off road and with decent tyres the'll go pretty much everywhere a Landy or Fourtrack will go, sometimes even places they can't go 'cos of the width. Insurance isn't cheap for that age group for anything but Jimnys are group 5 if I remember rightly. Cheers, D. Checked and found. Group 7. Cheers, D.

  15. Hey doctor! If I can't get a dog fit without any of those words in my regime(except fit) after 30 odd years of hunting I may as well retire and hang my dogs up to dry. I agree there is a "sports scientist" approach to all hunting animals available now but I'm sure the majority will agree that the best dogs are owned and WORKED by the most experienced and traditional type of fieldsportsmen with lines named after their stock and years of EXPERIENCE under their belt. As far as all the "techno jargon" stuff in your post, it would have more credibility if the spelling was correct. Sorry to soun

  22. Beauty!! Never have probs in the local pubs around here as most of the locals are in country gear, although the hunt terrierman did get thrown out of the village shop for having muddy boots! There's no probs in the local Asda either, providing you remember to remove your sheath knife! Oops, D.
