  6. I know what you mean....and hats off to you. It seems to me it's often the Saluki x's that worry sheep, infact most of the sheep worriers I've come across had a good bit of Saluki in them. And you're right....it's a totally different story when you're there next to the dog as opposed to when he's out of sight, blood up and on the chase. Then it's almost impossible to control the dog. And believe me, I'm far from 'the Saviour of the dog world'...I just had lots of time and some knowledge. But I hear what you say re: time not being on your side... you're obviously a real dogman and have the b

  11. My 18mth patt/russell has been with me when I feed/clean my ferts daily since 8wk old. She screams to get in their run every morning and mouths them all gently. A couple of the ferts won't take any messing and she knows that BUT a grown dog is a different proposition. Be careful or you'll have a dead fert But (again) it can be done with A LOT of patience. Good luck. Cheers, D.
  12. Wrm them up first with a decent walk/run off the lead then maybe a nice QUIET lane and a few miles behind the motor at a nice pace (15mph) then maybe a few shortish runs at 20-25 mph but NOT TOO MUCH, especially for a young dog. As MarkG says, run 'em to peak fitness but they do need a base level of fitness. HTH. Cheers, D.

10 cubic metres is approx 25 tons ffs You need it setting up properly, do it in stages and make sure you've got plenty of help! The fact that your asking means you aren't confident, get someone in with experience to at least help you plan it. Good luck . Cheers, D.
  14. Mackeral feathers, maybe baited with mackeral strips, or sand eels are good as well. Quite a few places sell them around the coast. Cheers, D.
  15. A good terrier would be better than a poor lurcher and vice versa. Don't think theres any difference in the qualities of the breeds, just in the individual dogs. I've seen both very good (and very bad) examples of both breeds:thumbs: Cheers, D.
  16. If you a bit farther over the South Coast, try the Meerkat at Looe, Steve, another decent skipper. Where are you thinking of staying? Cheers, D.
