  5. WHEN I had hare dogs, 25 years or so ago, if a dog couldn't take 3/3 on a fairly regular basis, it would be classed as just another "average " lurcher. There was one in every backyard in the North West. We ran Lincoln area often. My uncle worked in Saudi and we used to spend lots of weekends bungalow sitting in Harmston. The game carts came through the village with over 100 shot hares every weekend in the season, never mind Spring and Summer. Nuff said. Cheers, D.
  6. Wish we could keep one for as long though! LOL. Cheers, D.
  7. They've been out 6 times now, probably again tomorrow evening, just waiting for a text. Cheers, D.
  8. Just buy an ordinary ferret collar (ebay, pet shop etc, 2-3 quid) and put it on them a few times for a couple of hours or so. Give them a treat etc when you do it so they get used to having a collar on. Not only will they get used to having a collar on but you will also get used to putting it on tight enough to stay on (so you don't have to dig for an empty locator collar!) but also not so tight that you strangle the fert. Cheers, D.

  16. First job then is to get the fecker rewired. Had no end of bother til got mine sorted. The Blazer is miles better than the Striker in most respects, except for the length of beam. PS If you really want to be more fecked off, try getting a filter for the Striker and see how much of a faff that is! Cheers, D.

  19. Back in the early 's we had several 3/3 and 5/5 with our dogs, single handed at Harmston near Lincoln. Ex wifes uncle had a bungalow there and worked in Saudi, so we had loads of spells ther while we were "house sitting". LOL. Thought we had good dogs but the fact is they used to shoot over 100 a day and we were sickened to see the game cart come through the village with maybe 100 or more on the trailer. Depends where you are but when there are as many hares as rabbits around, even a mediocre dog will catch them if they are green. Any dog that can do 5/5 nowadays daytime has got to be h
