  1. Thanks mate, yes I think they are brilliant! best air rifle I have ever used. Never have to site it either just pick it up and start knocking over bunnies!
  2. I can just about understand the protests in the USA although not the violence or looting but really even that is a massive overreaction but as I don’t live there I don’t really feel I can comment but can someone please please explain to me why the f**k mainly white people are protesting in England about something that happened 4K miles away!!! Whilst in the midst of a pandemic! The same people saying Dom Cummings was evil for trying to protect his son are now marching in the thousands shoulder to shoulder. You couldn’t make it up, hypercritical morons. I fear at some point soon (if it’s not al
  3. I literally couldn't be in more agreement with him. Everything he said is absolutely spot on. f***ing woke morons and useless press
  4. Thanks mate, I shoot with an air arms s410 .177. Lovely rifle in my opinion, has been pretty much faultless as a bunny basher. It’s a great place to shoot, only real issue is a footpath on the edge and the fact there’s a constant stream of horsey girls disturbing you and the rabbits. Can’t go there and there’s no one there! Including a vegan!
  5. Thanks mate, landowner was pleased. I have 3 dogs and 10 adult ferrets and hungry litter of kits! They get through them at a pretty serious pace! I also have a few people I’ll give them to for themselves. Never go to waste
  6. After leaving it for a few weeks I went to the livery yard to try and get a few more for the owner. I arrived early evening and saw that my efforts of the previous visit had made precisely zero impact on numbers as there were rabbits everywhere! I crawled into position from the access point to a nice spot near at least a dozen feeding coneys and lined up my first shot, just as I was about to squeeze the trigger every rabbit feeding suddenly ran I hadn’t moved and couldn’t understand it then the problem quite literally presented itself...a big out of control rough haired vizsla came bounding ov
  7. A valid and good point. Regards RVHD2 unfortunately if it’s as easily spread as scientists think then all kinds of things will spread it. Walkers, farmers, birds, horses, badgers you name it, it is apparently active in a warren (even an unoccupied one) for 6 months after an outbreak! Unlike mixi which obviously needs a flea to spread it.
  8. Absolutely, one area I have permission on the rabbits have hit the spring barley quite hard in areas and farmer wants me to shoot them but I would rather leave them be especially with possible disease already going through them but if I don’t then he will or find someone else who will ??. Like you say just have to manage the spots as best you can to have some sport, keep the farmer happy but not wipe what’s left out. I feel more like a gamekeeper than a pest controller the last few seasons! I just show my face take a few for the pot but don’t really hit them hard unless they are actually ca
  9. All fairly disappointing but not unexpectedly so, will just have to hope it’s not to bad. I know my area has had the virus before and whilst numbers did go down dramatically there was still a small but reasonable population remaining.
  10. Rabbit numbers round my way we’re looking pretty good so far this summer, lots kicking around but last week I’ve found several dead unmarked young bunnies and one that was nearly dead. Not talking massive numbers but concerning that could be a lot more I am not seeing due to high undergrowth and passing below ground. Has anyone else noticed something similar? I know the disease has been in my area last few years as I have seen and heard of this before so hopefully they don’t get wiped out.
  11. My whippet dog is about 22.5 ish and was probably already that size at 7/8 months old and just filled out rather than up. He is a big lad for a whippet but is a non ped so wouldn’t be surprised if there’s some grey in his make up. Is yours ped or non ped?
  12. Keep em coming mate, I know the difference between a joke and something being actually offensive ??. Fed up with everyone being offended by everything, just about every joke is offensive to someone or it wouldn’t be funny!
  13. Study after study shows that children are both at so little risk that they are almost immune to the virus and also that in very comprehensive studies of where people caught the virus almost know one has caught the virus from children even if children that had tested positive where in a household adults still didn’t catch it from them. We simply can’t hide for ever, children need to be in school again. There is significantly more risk to children’s future being locked away indoors than there is by going to school. The idea of not opening schools until it’s 100 percent safe is a fantasy and one
  14. I don’t doubt that for one minute, they are pros. My mum works in a cancer department and has done for 20 years and my sister is a nurse. She told me that unfortunately though referrals for suspect cancer from GP’s etc had gone from 25-30 a week to 1 or 2 for most of April before picking up again. According to her the consultants were bored they had so little to do because the whole hospital had been cleared for the deluge of Covid patients that just never arrived....The cancer patients not as lucky as your mate will be the real tragedy or at the very least a big part of it. Covid may not kill
  15. The most likely and obvious reason is people are scared to go out and get the medical attention they need, A&E admissions are at there lowest levels ever! All the sick people that would normally be in hospital have been kicked out and now a lot out hospitals are basically empty. Normal ICU capacity is spare beds of between 5 to 10% and I believe currently we have around 50-60% empty, those sick people haven’t just got better they have died. The real tragedy of this will be that more people will die of treatable cancer, heart attacks etc above normal than of Covid due to the overreaction of
  16. I have heard of almost countless examples of people saying Covid has been put on a death certificates when there is zero evidence to justify it. I am not sure why tbh but the death figures are being massively inflated to look worse than they are. A friends mother than had been hanging on by her finger tips with dementia for the last 6 months died three weeks ago and they were told it was Covid, even if it was she had been a terrible state for some months if she had had a cold it could have finished her off but she wouldn’t have had cold on her death certificate. There’s a lot of things that do
  17. I gift them to people I know but if I don’t know them I charge £15 just to make sure they are serious about wanting them as if you give things to strangers sometimes they take the piss.
  18. Saw the old man yesterday, he came over sat in the garden 2m away and we had a nice catch up. Not doing anyone any harm and not going to have my basic civil liberties taken from me by hysteria. Common sense required, you can see friends and family just be sensible.
  19. Not really sure anything has actually changed, just clarifying the rules a bit. The rule ALWAYS was if you can’t work from home you can go to work and that was repeated this evening. The only real change was you can go outside and exercise as much as you want and sit on a park bench know. The main thing I took out of was schools and shops 1st of June and pubs and restaurants maybe early July if it’s all going well....but don’t be naughty or all this won’t happen.
  20. As Fred has already said be plenty of kits available in the next month or so, I have an early litter at the moment that are probably only 2/3 weeks from being weaned but often it’s a bit later. I would just flesh out what Fred said and say my personal feeling is that ferrets should be kept in minimum of pairs as they are social animals and need companionship. If you get jills you will need to have them taken out of season in the spring or get hobs and get them castrated or separate them in the summer as they will probably fight. Handle your kits as much as you can and be patient when it comes
  21. We should be free to make our own choices, simple. If Keith wants to stay home and others the same that’s there choice to make. It shouldn’t be made for us, this virus is the biggest con in history and the fallout will cost many many lives and even more livelihoods. The cure will prove fair more harmful than the virus. If your under 40 your chances of dying this year haven’t changed! If you under 65 they risen a barely noticeable amount. Children have fair more chance of dying of cancer, cot death etc than Covid 19. It’s all well and good hiding indoors but furlough can’t carry on forever and
  22. Depressingly spot on. If it’s true that black people have a 4 times higher chance of death and it’s as dangerous as being made out Africa should be in a desperate state but it’s not ?. We have had an overreaction that will have far reaching consequences for the entire country and now the government and media are trying to cover up their mistakes. The lockdown we have had has achieved bugger all, it was not strict enough to really stop the virus but plenty strict enough to destroy our economy for years to come. Great. Time to throw everything we have at protecting those that are actually at ris
  23. I don’t doubt that for one single second. My point was more that they have actually amazingly produced an article that wasn’t scaremongering bullshit for once. If the media had acted more responsibly people won’t be terrified to leave there house despite the fact it’s overwhelmingly unlikely you will die of this virus. The real pain is coming in the form of job losses and poverty in the worst recession we have ever seen as a result of shutting our entire country.
  24. Good first post mate....what’s the second post going to be? Anyone know of any decent unicorns for sale? ??
  25. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-52543692#comment_139161205 At last some context from the BBC, this article actually uses facts rather than fear and shows that if you are not ill already your chances of dying this year are the same in a normal year as this year if your under 30 (and no underlying problems) and if your under 50 (and no underlying problems) only very marginally increased. What happened to personal risk? Everyday we get in a car, drink a beer or fly in plane there is a risk of death but we live with it, it’s our choice we need to be able to make our own choice over this
