  1. I'd just do less work with her for abit mate especially if it's not phased her last thing you want is her stretch her legs and stretching the cut just road walks if I was you
  2. Nice sort very similar to my 11 month old
  3. Another good sized one what sort of steroids do the foxes use round there mate?
  4. So after research and speaking to numerous people I finally have decided on the bitch I'll be using to do a mating with my 3/8 5/8 bull grey, she's a blue bitch named witcombe howzat stands at 30" tts daughter of westmead hawk x droopys kina and half sister to Sparta meastro! Hopefully will be doing a mating at the end of this week.
  5. Could of been worse mate lucky it didn't belly her, by the looks of it it's a nice clean cut so should heal nicely nothing a couple of staples and abit of rest shouldn't sort ou
  6. I'll make a phone call and get back to you I know exactly who your on about
  7. Putting my 3/8 5/8 bull grey over an ex racer Feb timish should throw fast hard pups if all goes to plan, got 7 names for pups already though
  8. Try telling a bull cross or infact anything with anything about it not to run when it's got something in its sight haha you might be able to train a lurcher to do it but you'll have to break it's spirit i think.it don't matter if it's 1 yd from home and were how ever far away unless she's on a lead she'll go.don't bother me though apart from that pulling like feck and always pinching the sunday joint she's perfect. See if you feel the same when your one yard from home and she mullers the neighbours cat/guinea pig/yorkie/rabbit etc.though. I don't think that's strictly true personally I'd
  9. No disrespect mate but if someone is going to give you a dog between 12 to 18 months old it's more than likely not worth feeding, who in the right mind would wait all that time to finally get there pup going to give it someone else your better off starting from scratch do abit of research of breeding etc find out what you want and get a pup
  10. Iv seen it happen to be fair to the lad, the downside to it was the dog wasn't to see another day shame really lovely dog it was
  11. Try telling a bull cross or infact anything with anything about it not to run when it's got something in its sight haha There are dog men and then you have those that like to think they are, TC Stop mate it's embarrassing
  12. No good imo what's wrong with a normal collar and abit of bailing twine? A mate of mine used one of them a few years back there okay for slipping but what if you want to pull your dog off something you have to remember fit the collar
  13. Try telling a bull cross or infact anything with anything about it not to run when it's got something in its sight haha
  14. It's a tough one I made the mistake of getting a youngster going in the day before the lamp and I found compared to other dogs his recall after every slip was appalling as he was so use to hunting up in the day, I tackled it by every time he eventually came back I didn't acknowledge the dog just got him back on the slip and found another slip as soon as I could after a while he figured as soon as he misses if he came straight back he would get another slip sooner
  15. The thing is there's always been dogs around as good as the big names, and that goes with lurchers terriers and gundogs, I know a black dog that has numerous 11 hour digs on his belt and barely anybody has dug to that dog same with lurchers there so many about, I think people just tend to keep themselves to theirselves nowadays like Someone already said what's the point in advertising it your better off staying in your circle
  16. Haha here we go! Some of us don't just breed lurchers for running some need abit of strength behind them for certain jobs in the field, the sort of jobs that would give the average collie greyhound nightmares
  17. I like to see animals doing what they was bred to do, wether it be ferret hawk or dog, handling them biting kits until there old enough to see there first rabbit, I remember fetching my female finish goshawk from Liverpool port she arrived in a wicker bascket from Ireland it was the first day that bird had seen a human bar when her breeder put her ring on I spent every hour with that bird on my fist for 3 days and 2 nights not putting her down once, 1 month later I was flying her up Scotland catching rabbit after rabbit with her, same with a dog no better feeling than fetching you chunky littl
  18. Imo look out for another bull whippet or pure whippet don't put anything else in the mix other than maybe a whippet greyhound certainly wouldn't add collie into anything with bull in that's if you are looking for future breeding prospects
  19. Personally if I was going to get a whippet x terrier I'd aim towards a beddy whippet a well bred one will tackle just anything too I can't comment on a Russell x whippet as I don't know of any but I could imagine they could be tappers but like I said I have no experience with this cross
  20. Good stuff lad you must have a fair amount of foxes round your neck of the woods
  21. He does have a point in my eyes, to me my dogs are tools they have a job to do if there no good at there job there gone (not sold or given away) if a dog was to break its leg and never run again just like a hammer with a broken handle I'd replace the dog, a bad dog costs the same as a good one only with less enjoyment and more stress, a good dog in my kennels is treated like a king, I don't think this makes me a nasty person or a bad dog man I'll never give you a naff dog and I deffantly wouldn't sell you one.
  22. Sorry to hear! Bloody dogs ay sometimes there worse than a mrs... nearly! Iv just spent two months of intense jogging getting my 3/8 5/8 dig fit he's 8 years old so takes a lot longer to get fit than your average 3 year old then last week he's knocked something swelling has gone down but he is using that leg a lot better now, just another set back
  23. I agree beddy whippet greyhound something you can take out when it's 12 months old and it just knows what to do more or less
  24. A first cross beddy whippet bitch from a good few years back no top end but a whizz on small paddocks could turn on the spot, there was nothing that bitch wouldn't have ago at either
