The lynx reintroduction has been ongoing for the last 5 years or more so try to keep up, with regard to the rest of your pathetic statements for me and mine things are moving along just fine as with everything else the virus has been a bit of a pain but other than that it’s all moving along fine, for a man like yourself that sees life through Wikipedia it’s no surprise you struggle to grasp it but for me and many other outdoorsmen it’s an ongoing situation, if you actually took the time to listen to the podcasts all your silly little points are covered over and over, including road accidents,

The best hare dog I ever saw was a bitza a mate of mine swapped for a terrier back when coursing was still legal , he joined the coursing club at brean and this dog won everything the purists hated it because the hares never got away, he was out the slips one or two turns and bang not high scoring but the dog it was paired with never even got a turn in so it always won, these were proper 100 yard slips with a proper slipper not kick ups the next best dog was a beddy cross that never ran the hare but always new were it was going and used to just nail them as they ran through the gate he would j

Nice one, I must have had most types of pets over the years from goats to owls but by far the best are chickens feed on table scraps and give a return of those lovely orange yolked eggs, peg it down if it hasn’t got a wire floor as the Fox will be under it in no time ??

I’ve fitted trickle vents roof vents and air bricks but once the cavity is full of ringing wet cloth nothing will help newer houses have a wider cavity so they can have celotex and an air gap but old houses definitely a no no from me ??
-
Have done a few myself mate, find it unbelievable that all my early years in the building game keeping the cavity’s clear was a real big deal, then some bright spark came up with the ideal of pumping your cavity full of old clothing that has been shredded, after a few years the insulation gets water logged and ends up dropping down giving you horrendous damp and mould around the bottom 3/4 foot of your house, the people that came up with it should be sued and made to remove it for free, houses need an open fire or some draftie old sach windows to keep the damp out we breath out a considerable

The bloke I dealt with was professor Stephen Harris at Bristol uni, he is not in anyway shape or form a hunter seems to have spent his entire working life studying urban wildlife, we used to see him walking around in the early hours with a big headset on and what looked like a tv Ariel tracking his collared animals, he must have had some good resources as there were catch alive cage traps in every wood or copse in town, we had a never ending supply of traps as well ??studied fox’s then badgers last I heard he was studying the urban deer population, have not heard of him recently but he was sti

-
The prices back then were better than working like you say you would need pelts to be worth around £150/£200 each in today’s money to be equal to the 80s ?? The tagging program on urban fox’s in Bristol also bumped the money up as well as around a 1/3 rd of the fox’s were collared or tagged and the guy running the programme never judged you for killing them he just payed you for the collar or tag and asked you how it had died for his data. ??
-
Wasn’t much value to them with holes in and guns were not really of any use for a urban hunter, used to mostly snare and lamp them with the dog, Bristol always had a huge urban population would be lamping in the middle of town in parks when everone else was pubbing and clubbing and snaring on school fences and round the perimeter fence if I was working on a building site, you could make big numbers without ever leaving the city ??
-
Used to be jays wings back in the day along with squirrel tails and hares masks for the fly tiers, Fox pelts at £15/£25 each deer a ton a piece, rabbits 50p clean at the gamedealers or 25p bruised at the zoo, radio collars on Fox’s were £25 on top of the pelt and ear tags £5 each even trout used to fetch a £1 each round the pubs a weeks work on site would get me £50 ??
