  2. i would love to get up close to the two legged sort. but the wife wont let me.
  3. Hi Matie.. No I dont have dogs, just do wildlife photography and the guys roped me in.. Aye it takes a lot of practice, especially lamping the rats. If your doing it yourself, while taking pictures, it will be difficult. When Im out the guys do all the moving of rubbish etc, Im just focussed totally on trying to get the shots, positioning, pre focussing sometimes lying on my belly at times to get that "better" shot The book we are doing around ratting has a chapter on "how to" to assist anyone who wants to get better images. camera, lens, settings etc Staff young bitch on a ray
  4. ive got loads of em. spend my summer sculking about with a camera. town foxes most of em. pretty easy to get snaps of them if you get out at the right times of day. a couple just for you.
  5. not that i know of. gnipper but they scavenge on an industrial estate mostly. for FD. dogfox. at earth with cub. close up .
  6. its a 55-200. nikon lens' not the best to be honest. i really want a good 300mm lens but they cost an arm and a leg, Aye its not a cheap hobby.. Great photos keep us posted on the cubs.. its been raining everyday since, hoping to get down over the weekend. i feel an anti climax is gonna happen on this thread.

  8. its a 55-200. nikon lens' not the best to be honest. i really want a good 300mm lens but they cost an arm and a leg,
  9. the simple answer is yes its a long lens . but not as long as i would like.
  10. i'm not convinced there are two litters there. big litters tend to apear when food is plentifull. town foxes can often have big litters. when large area's are planted with tree's you can see bigger litters due to the amount of field voles etc. litter sizes will drop once the tree's are up and ground cover drops. ive seen a couple of big litters recently. both where split before they where the size of the cubs in the pic. how many adults and what sex where shot if you dont mind me asking
  11. cracking thread this. thanks for sharing.
  12. happy memories of catching newts as a kid. not seen one for an age.
  13. but good light is so expensive. fingers crossed i get them on a nice spring evening.
  14. a young lad is offered a bit of puff buy a dealer . yea harmless really but after a while he goes for his bit of puff and the dealer says. aint got any puff wee man. but you can try one of these if ye want. kids are gullable. not long before the dealer has anoth good little earner. where do you draw the line. puff is probably one of the least dangerous substances. but is aimed at children without a scooby what they are getting into. and the first step on a dodgy ladder for many
  15. i thought this one looked like a youngster compared to the others. the pic was just after showing from the earth. air scenting on appearance. same fox thanks for the possitive feedback. i had the camera set all wrong. on matrix instead of spot metering and focus is on the grass in front i think. will be back there in a day or two. try again for the cubs.
  16. went to a local earth and sat for an hour. three foxes showed but no sign of the cubs not what i wanted but its better than a nail in yer welly
  17. last but not least. a nice big fox apeared.
  18. a tight crop of the fox bringing something in . cant make it out. but still proof if needed
  19. just back from watching an earth. and saw the dog bring in something but couldnt make out what it was. the vixen sharply chased him away. there was also a third fox at the earth no sign of the cubs yet
  20. Lol that's the same fox ,different angle ,same foliage .Not to be pedantic of course .Have to do better than that . same foliage same earth different foxes. this family can be seen from my window. tripod is dead now but there are three adults at the same earth this year. there was four last year. the old dog fox was easily recognisable due to his gait. even my old eye's aint that bad.
  21. Tripod. a local dog fox with one of his cubs at the earth. he was a cripple and still helped the vixen feed the cubs. along with a cub from the previous year. ive watch these foxes for generations and they work as a family for sure. he also fed the vixen when she was with the cubs these are townies though. tripod / earth/ vixen.
