    Aussie whip Warrener's used to farm rabbits and created these pillow mounds man made burrows kept drained to encourage them to breed. But the sheer amount of work needed to create them and the drainage ditches gob smacked me, they look like giant graves. I only looked around a few hundred yards and there were about twenty, the whole of Huntingdon Warren covers 600 hundred acres so i've no idea how many mounds there are. http://www.legendarydartmoor.co.uk/rabb_warr.htm have a look at this link, it will explain better than i could.     Been wanting to go and have a look a some Pillow Mound on Dartmoor. So walked up to the Avon Dam then on for a mile or two and there they were at least twenty of them and loads more all over the hill. Them old Warrener's did some graft about 6' high with a ditch all the way round ranging from 20' long to 50' long then drainage trenches that zig zag down the hill. There must have been thousands of rabbits on this hill at one time but now could not see any sign at all,I would love to ferret one of these that was active. Cheers Arry

    The JR jumping through the gate in the snow post on "show us your white dogs". Snowy very stocky JR I bought from a farmer on Dartmoor, I was gob smacked the other day when I found the old photo and looked on the back to see 1982 written on it. If you told him off he would wimpier in the corner of the room not even touched him, Take him out he would hulk out and take on the world. Gentle with the kids and ferrets etc. Often think of him, lives on in my memory Cheers Arry

    Taken back in May so it might be a moult, we don't get many with mange as this is hunting ground and they take out most of the rough ones. I was in a green lane when I spotted a fox being chased by sheep, watched for a wile as it started to walk off thought I try calling it, came like a dream. Took a lot more shots but auto focus picked up on nettles and grass, ended up about six foot away the other side of the hedge. Cheers Arry

    Yes mate it could fleas or mites. Have a look at this site. https://vcahospitals.com/know-your-pet/ferrets-skin-disease I use some thing called "Ferretone" for their skin and coat especially when their changing coats about now. Cheers Arry

    Hate the things but as said there somebody's pet. So I use a paint ball blow pipe which i've got quite good at over the years, unfortunately the balls don't break if you hit them. So have aim a bit short then they burst and get sprayed, rarely come except one. I bought some 6" long screws with an eye on the end from farmer store put one on each fence post a 2" piece of bamboo on the shank. Then ran some thin wire through the eyes then came back with another strand took a turn round the shank just above the bamboo witch stopped it from dropping, this has worked really well so far.     All working now mate, love watching the kits giving each other hell, nice set up. Got two kits about the same size I could watch them for hours, I have a run on the lawn with pipes boxes hammock etc and they bomb around like a couple of squirrels on speed. Cheers Arry
