Don't know how you can compare the US with UK as Cougars are indigenous in the US and have reach a population that is as high as it's going to get. Where as down in South Devon even when there were lots of sighting you could only for sure say there were two Big Cats one Black one Sandy coloured. In an area roughly from Plymouth to Exeter and from Prince Town to Salcombe thats roughly 1000 square miles. Hardly surprising no trail camera photos as that makes it almost impossible to work out were they would show up next. This discounts smaller varieties of Big Cats like the Leopard Cat shot

It was bloody tasty Lynn. I shall be doing that one again. CheersArry

Think you right right to some degree mate, certainly not the amount of sightings now that there was back along. I do think there maybe pockets of breeding Big Cats, Dorset seems to be a hot spot now. I often wonder about that cat that was heading east then seemed to move up the coast recon looking for a mate, may have found one in Dorset. I also believe we may have a small amount of Lynx as there seems to still be sightings of them from time to time and the terrain down here would be more suited to then. Cheers Arry

I 100% believe there are Big Cats out there. Between early 80's and 2000 there were weekly sightings down here in the South Hams and Dartmoor strangely more of a Black Big Cat. I have heard many accounts of sighting from a Farmers son who's father seen it twice on their farm and the lads sister who had one land in front of her as it leaped over a hedge into a green land and jump the opposite hedge. Also good friends and countrymen that have seen them while working on a house or out shooting. Another mate seen one laid in the middle of a country lane it got up and leapt over a six foot hedge on

Lads I'm thinking of getting a Metal Detector and I think it was DIDO that recommended the Garret 250 to me on another thread. Now I have been looking at different ones and now completely bamboozled Lol. But is it worth lashing out a bit more and going higher up in the Garret range or not, or even something different. I would like something that not too complicated easy to use but can still perform. Cheers Arry

Mate I know I don't get the same results as Stoaty or Zandy but they are not bad. Now I can't afford the top of the range gear but have a look at some of my shots if you think they are good enough you could try the FZ150 Panasonic bridge camera. Most of my shots are taken on auto Lol. You could get one for less that £150 second hand.
