Good post mate. I like a bit of banter with people on the checkout or people serving table etc. Also having good relations with neighbours and caring for folk. The old lady across the road I did her shopping and gave her at least three hot meal a week, was easy to make a little extra and do you know it made me feel good helping out. BIess her she was 94 I think and passed about a year ago now. I am lucky, I live in a small town in Devon where people do seem neighbourly obviously it's not the same everywhere. I take a neighbour some mushrooms they bring round some apples etc. In my opinion this

I don't know if this is right or not but hobbies and interests I think help. I like gardening and you have to plan ahead and watch the rewards. I am keen at foraging, fishing, ferreting now started metal detecting as if I needed another hobby. But it keeps the mind active thinking where you are going what bait you are going to use where you might find stuff wether that be fungi or treasure if you get what I mean. I have had some massive up sets in my life losing one of my lads 19 years ago and more recently my 16 month old granddaughter in the spring. In my view keeping active and having to pl

  17. I don't remember Mixie hitting and I'm 70 so would have only been 2 when it happened. Remember father saying they were piled up on the side of the roads. I was a nipper when I first went out with the ferrets and my father and two mates and me tagging along would be lucky to get a brace. Things slowly got better and better with mixie hitting in the summers often. Then recently this bloody RHD came along and I find down here it's patchy now little thick patches and other places just a few fields away void of them. Cheers Arry

  20. Where I live we still have Three proper Butchers in the High Street which is handy for selling rabbits. Also a market on Fridays and Saturday which has a good stall selling Evergreen Farm Dexter or Ruby Red meat which is excellent. I have had meat from Sherberton Beef which is Belted Galloways from Dartmoor at Hexworthy. You pay the same price per kilo for best cuts and say lower cuts or mince etc. If you buy a kilo of prime steak say you have to have a kilo of mince or such like, not a bad system. Nice meat as been grazing on the moors all year mixed moorland grasses. There are two
