  1. Past hour
  2. I’m not doubting you mate, the bitch could easily have thrown to the whippet side. That’s what I’ve been saying, the first cross generally throws to type, once you get other types in the mix , you get more chance of a greater variance in the litter. Best of luck with them and it would be a pleasure for me to see them work Cheers.
  3. Here’s my 2 pence worth haha I think charts is right in majority of cases, the variation in litter would put most off, but again how many folks want the same types sure the smaller ones would suit other folk an vice versa and if you was gonna use summat like one these modern day coursing dogs, iv said it before on here years go im sure, I class them modern day coursing dogs as the new age greyhounds let’s face it they been bred to do the job of the old coursing greys, and they do it well, they throw to type 99% of time an the decent bred ones are real hardy animals, so usin one the
  4. @chartpolskithey bought them in at a year old brother and sister but I’ll double check I’ll get a picture of the brother this season if we get a day out all get you up if you want
  5. Looks like a post posted by an anti this !
  6. Aye it was mate haha puppy fat tho haha I outgrew that 2 weeks later haha
  7. How many people do you know that cull ? I, personally, only know two, they never sold a pup, they culled and gifted pups to like minded people. 99% sell the pups on , that’s just a sad fact of the game . Cheers.
  8. That you in the pic with the dog mate ? lol
  9. I personally think that's where lads went wrong with deerhound crosses. The auses and yanks had right idea . Jmho pal . Breed for work . Cull the wastage
  10. Yes, you can, my shidoshi, oss
  11. I’m not disputing what you say mate , but once you use more than two breeds in a cross, you’ll get more wastage, maybe not the correct word, but the litter won’t be as “level” as a first cross. This probably only concerns the first cross deer/grey, ,they always seem to throw true to type. Other first crosses could throw to either parent, and when you have more than two types in a cross, you can’t be sure what you get. I’ve seen it in first cross collie/greys, the speed of the collie and the brains of the greyhound ! LOL ! The deer/ grey types were extremely popular up here before the salu
  12. that looks nice ...i like your plates as well
  13. As you know walloper. I have the old stuff in mine . They were real hard grafters
  14. Bangers has already robbed two of her gaffs
  15. Today
  16. One that type your talking about that we had when I was a wean, grafted along side big chipshop very regular an they took some stick, no world beaters but they were hardy animals haha
  17. Charts . For me . If i had a pure deerhound and wanted to breed for work . I'd be using exactly that . And animal that's very sound around 26" but fast with gears . I'd sacrifice a bit of height to gain durability. Creating a deerhound x that can take a lotta graft . The ones I've seen tend to be a bit fragile and can't go out a few days in a row . The best ones I've seen , we're deerhound x lurchers. The dogs in my line were all that way bred 40/50 years ago . And they lacked nothing other than that bit extra steam . Thats were the saluki blood got added. I'm sure you'd agree with the deer
  18. Talk about fecking lunatics running the asylum.lammy as deputy prime minister what is going on when that idiot has made it to that position ffs.we are ducked so bad it is unbelievable.
  19. I’m certainly not disagreeing with you, but when you use a lurcher with a few different breeds in it, over a pure deerhound, you’re never sure what you’ll get, as with that little bitch of mine. Dont get me wrong, she was a tremendous bitch, one of the best I’ve had, but I’d have liked her to go the size of her litter brother , 25”. With the first cross deer/grey you’re almost guaranteed what you’ll get, they throw very true to type. I guess it’s up to what you want and what you’re expecting Cheers.
  20. And to think these lunatics are running the country running it alright right into the fekin ground.
  21. Someone had a deerhound x saluki used 2 be on here spose 2 bin a right good deer dog
  22. yet another comedy of errors ,just wait till reeves does the budget , that will really f..k the job up.
  23. Put a good hard fast lurcher over a deerhound bitch . That'd be the thing to keep the litter sound for work . Imho
