  1. Well. We were on RAF Upper Heyford where they then flew the F1,11’s There was a red alert and I remember a lady crying her eyes out about her husband being on the dark side. Maybe it was all a smoke and mirrors exercise. Did Yuri Gagarin do it ? Jok..

  5. I’ve just re read that sorry guys, senior moment. James Penny has a lovely workshop in the village of Grendon near Tamworth in Staffs. He makes the most amazing knives, sheaths and handles to die for. He is personable and a lovely bloke to do business with.. just to make sure I just Googled him and he is there. Have a look. Jok.
  6. For what it’s worth, I’d better introduce you to a friend of mine. JP knives in a little village near me. I think he makes an outstanding blade and is well worth a look. Jok.

  9. As you know we were on Threepwood for a number of years. Mostly good. My formative fishing and hunting was done all around there. I think if you mentioned my name anywhere in the area they would know who I am. Dodgy character him. Jok.

  11. Black hill. I lived on a farm beneath and spent endless hours on there. The farmer down the road was Wattie Thompson where we, as a family, used to how fields of turnips. As an aside. We used to have the Eildon race which started in the Greenyards and then up Dingleton brae onto the Newstead Eildon, over the Melrose Eildon , down the Bowden Eildon and a run back to the Greenyards for a final lap. Also, clearly showing my age, we used to have the Easter Egg race on the Melrose Eildon.   12. Looking at Blacknecks post, I’ve grown a variety called Kestrel. They are a superb potato imo. Jok.
  13. No pics but made my first load of chutney today. Courgette, tomato, onion, green bean, sweet pepper, cooking apple bit of chilli salt and pepper. Smells superb. Will know in the morning. Jok.

  15. Am just preparing some stuffed courgette. Stuffing consists beef mince, rice, onion, garlic, sweet pepper and a little Thai hot sauce. Salt and black pepper. Scoop out the ‘boats and fill. Place in Bain Marie at 350 for 40 minutes. Jok.
