If like me you watch a bit of youtube...usually political stuff...it can get on your tits ....so it's nice to look at bits of old film like this....of course it can make you sad cos we won't get it ba

Walking the streets with Air guns Shooting crows off Chimney tops neighbours shouting Watch the f***ing Windows going out at night with torch gun & shooting Roosting pigeons under railway bridges

Some brilliant films on youtube like the one Tomo posted. My 5 year old Grandson spends most of his time in doors glued to a ipad so I try to get him out and about and interested in working with

The 70s and 80s, and something you don’t see anymore is……youth culture !
There used to be:

Mods

Skinheads

Punks

Goths

New Romantics

Scooter Boys

Mod-ism has had a bit of a revival amongst blokes of a certain age and old scooter boys just wont die, but you don’t have the same groups anymore

Theres also a little pocket of Skinhead/Oi music going strong with bands like Booze & Glory but again it’s niche.

In the late 60’s, early 70’s I was a young, single mod without a care in the world;

By the late 70’s I was married with kids and working in the Middle East bringing electricity to remote communities;

The path of life takes many twists and turns…….

Cheers.

My 14 yr old daughter,has just started knocking about with a group of young Skinheads,there's about 20/25 of them in our little Town and surrounding villages,boys and girls....I honestly think they are cool as f**k,and it's great to see them dressed up,and watching all the Karen's,pointing and talking under their breath as they go about their days no fucks given😉👍

Not forgetting the metal heads with their filthy biker jackets.., or by the mid-80’s the football casual scene. Like you say there are little pockets of these things left but they’re usually people reliving their youth. Seen a few videos recently of some bloke singing some of the old ska/two-tone classics with guys and girls in their 60’s skanking away, good for them but it did look a bit ridiculous. Fella I work with is 63 and goes all over the country watching punk bands from back in the day.., or what’s left of them.
I think the dance/indie/rave scene of the late 80’s early 90’s was the last real youth cultural thing.., or at least the last of any size and real significance.

In the mid 60's I remember nearly getting sent home from school for wearing Winkle Pinker boots that I nagged and nagged my mother for Lol. Used to stuff tissue paper in the toes to stop them curling up.

Cheers Arry
