I haven’t mentioned this but short of leaving the country that will be hard. I live in a very nice rural community that in the past 12 months is beginning to be f***ing destroyed. And that’s now the same story the country over.

Its the sort of community where I can keep myself private but still everyone knows me. In the past 12 months though there’s been quite a bit of change.

And this is the trouble I desperately want to move out of Essex as it’s too busy but where do I move to where there isn’t hordes of tribes, trust me I have looked and looked since I retired last year and I’m stuck in limbo, at least where I am now all my neighbours in my street are white British.

Ahh, it’s a conversation that’s been done to death on here lads and I’m sure it’s the last thing on poor BHs mind……we all know the reality’s.

Its one of the reasons the east of Europe is setting its stall out to attract young professionals who can work in the digital economy, I think over time that’s the direction our brightest and best, who retain a sense of what a nice European country should look like, will head.

Bottom line is, like all of us, the bloke just wants to live his life in peace in his homeland and not be prey to circumstances he didn’t want and didn’t ask for…..not too much to ask really is it.

I wouldnt get a mali unless you are able to dedicate HOURS a day to exercising and training it. A good, working line german shep would probably be your best bet. And then devote as much money as nec to a good schultzhund trainer

Why spend a load of money on a sport trainer,The guy is after a home guardian not a dog to do long sends or bark at a decoy behind a blind

An ARC burglar alarm, decent external lighting and a dog that barks will deter 95% of casual burglars and make them seek out less protected premises.

I like our shepherds both good with kids and very sensible older one is coming up 8 and no health problems her pup will be 2 n a half and has made a good dog both very protective of the kids and house

As it should be.Any decent bred guardian breed if kept in the home and made part of the family so it sees you all as part of its pack should protect it pack and home naturally.Unless you're training for sport or may need a dog to bite someone on the out as part of your job.pp training or schutzhund/rings port training where you'll be training a dog using prey drive techniques can cause you more trouble than it's worth when your dog spots a jogger or someone waving a stick about and decides to chase them down the field and bite them.

what about a Rhodesian ridgeback they are naturally protective

I've been working with someone who grew up in South Africa, and recently asked him if people kept Ridgebacks as guard dogs, he reckoned they were more of a pet breed

Hope you get sorted Born Hunter, and sorry to hear your bad news

Seen a border collie that was quite protective, also worked well with ferrets and was well behaved around the family

Farm collies have always been biting barking little cun*s uncle had a few he had to get in the pick up before we could as kids 😂

I've just had a long winded message saying "If you want the ultimate protection dog it's either a pure saluki or coursing bred, no others come close!"

I am surprised no one has mentioned a form of lurcher yet 😂 mine does a good enough job of deterrent. But wouldn’t be an out and out guard dog.

A nice bull/greyhound would be a good deterrent.

My spaniels sounding off are probably as much a deterrent as anything. I was thinking more of something that would act as a last line of defence for my family in my absence. Something to chew f**k out of any intruder while they get to safety. Something I’m going to have to think on but several people now have said it’s the wrong way to go.
