Popular Post Neal 1,915
I opened this thread yesterday after not being on here for a week or so and thinking I must have misread the title. I read the first post, closed the computer down and went for a long walk up Windmill Hill. There was a hare at the top and I wondered if he believed in reincarnation. I only met Phil a handful of times, maybe a little more, but I learnt a lot on those few occasions, particularly when he once borrowed the two ferrets I had at the time to get one of his previous 'cur dogs' started (I think it might have been Dusty). However, despite his standing in the lurcher world, my overriding memory of him is that, no matter how much he was enjoying time out with the dogs, he really wanted to get back home to Rose; his best friend. R.I.P. Phil. Thinking of you Rose; may all the happy memories keep you smiling. 20 Quote Link to post

grompz56 63
The knowledge and dedication of phil and lurchers can never be replaced, he was old school moocher and learnt his trade the proper way out on the land, never met the man, butfelt as i knew him by his books and his very early days writing his weekly column lloyd on lurchers, in the old shooting news. sadly the likes of phil will neverbe seen again, the lurcher world is a much sadder place without him. hunt on with the jukels in the next world. rip phil, deepest condolences to his wife and family. 9 Quote Link to post
