See, the way I look at it is......very few people have any real business owning dogs like the breeds you mention, yet look at the types you see parading around with them.   Feking liability and a danger to the public.  Shame on those who pump them out and sell them to any twonk willing to hand over cash.

In a perfect world having a dog license like a driving licence could work . You put in some time before even getting a dog and go to classes and watch people training other dogs etc and you get a general dog license that would cover golden retrievers and generic dogs . If u wanted a powerfull dog you had to do that part of the license , watch bite training with those dogs to actually see the damage they can do , learn from experienced dog owners and trainers etc

I've seen opposition to that idea on here before and I can't remember why the opposition but I imagine it would spell the end for working dogs .

Can't see dog licensing ever happen but the principle of people being forced to learn about what their taking on is a good one

That's it... I'm out of here!!

I'm pretty easy going and tolerant about most things ,but every time I see one of those big fat ugly useless earless bags of shite towing a skinny scruffy trackie wearing waste of space and his tattoo

Here's the common sense approach i.m.o... XL bullies added to the existing DDA. Making it illegal to breed and sell so, in theory no other dogs being added to the existing population. A

I agree.  Where I live in UK, dog licence is a legal requirement of dog  ownership, but it doesn't involve anything more than letting the local council know that you own a dog.  Responsibility is often lacking, as well as those who will always think that rules/responsibility don't apply to them......

Gov have released example pics of XL Bullys and is it just me or would these dogs (especially 2 and 3) have been covered under pit type anyway?

i see what you mean, even though nothing like proer apbt = bulldog , the cops rspca , would label the same breed, after all there pit x abd x mastiff type x there really poor bred ( bandog) . and even though license or retraining be good thing , but the divs  macho types  would never do it. feck me i have enough probs with think lab owners and dob owners going at my old dog Buck , Christ he 11 year old , ive had go out early to avoid them. ist time in long while that i wish i had one of our old line staffs we had in the 60s, he kill them feckin labs or dob , but suppose it be my dog that pay the price through  them wankers .

Soon be another breed

I can remember about 10 - 15 years ago, some on here tried to recreate the Alhunt excuse the spelling, seen a couple that were basically a mastiff cross. Handy looking dogs on certain quarry i would of thought, But these dogs  are produced for the Div society market.

The ones I saw were culls they flooded the market with them though  no were near a decent bull x might of looked handy but they weren't fit for purpose
