Whilst we're knocking xl bullies on the head can we round up all the Caucasian shepherds, ovcharka, alabai, kangal etc etc and sort them too? No need for big daft things like that over here.

I see this young woman around with one of those ovcharkas, it's head comes up to her tits and it's constantly ragging on the lead and generally looking like an out of control beast  Accident waiting to happen

That's it... I'm out of here!!

I'm pretty easy going and tolerant about most things ,but every time I see one of those big fat ugly useless earless bags of shite towing a skinny scruffy trackie wearing waste of space and his tattoo

Here's the common sense approach i.m.o... XL bullies added to the existing DDA. Making it illegal to breed and sell so, in theory no other dogs being added to the existing population. A

One got out round here a couple of years ago and bit a young girl a few times and she was ok but it could have been a lot worse.

Just re read the news article and it bit 5 people when the wind blew the gate open.

Why worry about temperament when pups were making a few quid ? Nerve bag x nerve bag = pups sold on payment plans to divs thinking they was making a fortune breeding off it in future dont worry about it growling at children well sell it after first litter 🤦🏻‍♂️

A good mate told his neighbour that if either of his kangals ever step foot on his property he's shooting them on sight, and he would. Bastrud things locked 24/7 in a small pen going nuts at anything that passes them.

I mean that I see a lot of dogs without any basic training or socialising.
I draw a distinction between working dogs and pets.
Of course there’s bad dogs, and some of the top coursing dogs I’ve seen could be described as “manny”, but weren’t walked around the streets by the owners kids !

So let’s not get working dogs, owned, in general, by experienced people, confused or equated with this months “fad” dogs, whose owners see them only as a status symbol and put no effort into them whatsoever.

Cheers.

I get what you're saying re training/socialising etc and agree...but i disagree about whether its a working dog or pet....it makes no difference in my opinion a dog born bad is bad regardless and no amount of time/care or dog whisperer nonsense will ever get that dog right.

I was around a few dogs years ago that even though they were top sporting dogs they were also the most predatory unforgiving animals ive ever come across......but as you kind of allude to,they were in experienced hands and not " fad " dogs.

So if a dog gets out and runs amok because the owner hasn’t secured it in a secure pen or kennel it’s the dogs fault ?

If a dog slips it’s lead and runs amok because the owner hasn’t got it on a decent collar and lead, it’s the dogs fault ?

To take your argument to “reducto absudum”, if a lion escapes from a zoo and kills someone, is it the lions fault ? Or the keepers ?

If the dog runs up and bites a childs face off yes of course its the dogs fault.....thats the thing mate we can take all the precautions in the world it wont stop a bad dog being a bad dog at any given opportunity.....yes you'll blame the owner for not securing the dog but it doesnt take any blame away from the dog some just aint wired up right.

Obviously your lion point is tongue in cheek but wild animals cant be blamed for acting like wild animals but domesticated dogs can certainly be blamed for acting like wild animals.

As I’ve said, of course there’s bad dogs and no amount of training or socialising will change them, but we humans are top of the evolutionary tree, we produce these animals and should be responsible for them.

If I have the fastest greyhound , the best hare dog or the gamest bulldog in the world but it’s manny and a liability I have choices, do everything I can to avoid “situations “ or cull it. The decision is mine. If I make the wrong decision and someone is hurt by the dog, then I would blame myself, not the dog. That doesn’t mean it’s not a bad dog or I’m a bad owner? It’s just me taking responsibility.
Im in absolutely no way speaking up for “dog whisperers”, I’m just saying if you take on a dog that turns out bad, it’s your responsibility.

And yes, my lion quote was taking things to the absurd.

Anyhow, I’m just repeating myself , so time to bow  out !
Cheers.

Camel's toe is this year's  'in' look. I'm looking into establishing a morality policeforce with the aim of caning any female parading such a look. Same as in Iran. Identities will be taken and parents will be visited and also caned.

Im not saying and have never said “there’s no bad dogs” as that’s absurd , what I’m saying is if people insist in keeping dogs that may be deemed dangerous, then it’s their responsibility to keep it under control, which, sadly, a lot of the people owning these dogs seem incapable of doing !

Cheers.

You literally said it's not the dog, it's the owners.

These dogs aren't just running amok when they slip loose; they're naturally man biters and biting their owners as well, the same as other ban dogs do. They're not mentally stable as a cross

I haven’t disagreed with a single thing you have said !

If you own one of these dogs and know it’s manny, and you take it to a park full of dogs and kids and let it loose and it does some damage do you really think it’s the dogs fault ? Or the owners ?

Its a rhetorical question, I really don’t want to be sucked into an argument, you have your opinion and I have mine. Let’s leave it at that.

Cheers.

The only real link i can make to Mr Charts point is in relation to the f****n idiots who breed dogs from high drive, high pain theshold, super reactive and determined on one side with an aggressive guarding instinct on the other......and then think it would be a good idea to put them in a family environment.

Nothing quite like that look a real man eater gives you when they're fired up and decide it's you that's going to get it today, makes your blood run cold. I've been around big cats and wolves and other wild predators but the energy just doesn't come to close.
