? I know you are not too keen on the Blue Merles,..so I always fetch one along, just to annoy ya? The wee bitch that you might have seen run, one or two shushis, would be Angel.. I remember,

Would have to agree with you TOMO?  Facts are, IF...you can get a fast type to slow down, use his head, instead of his muscles, then the quarry is half way into the bag. You have proved it yourse

I've used this Tan & white dog for a good number of years ,he's a  dog I use with the ferrets over a gun or nets ,he can do it all ,flushing ,bringing back to hand , apart from running down a rabbit out in the open .Around the nets he's cat like & doesn't miss many, "Happy" is a cross between a Jack Russell and a English springer Spaniel .

I’ve seen a springer x Russell work and to be fair it was a handy dog lad on a local shoot had it always finding and catching rabbits in the cover hell of a nose on it never give a false mark

I think definitely Whippet strong in the blood, preferably with some terrier blood. The few rabbit specialists Ive seen, like elastic and nailing rabbits quick one after the other have been this blood or bred down Grew and Collie, but whippet in every one.

She was a proper wolf in sheep's clothing, under her rough coat she had the physique of a whippet/greyhound, super quick, one of the fastest lurchers I've ever owned.

That one of yours is  lightly built, if your still thinking of a Spanish cross to yours, they have rough coat genes so you'd likely get something very similar but with a bit more stamina and better feet, she suffered with the odd knocked up toe.

How was that one bred Phil ?

Hi Liam, good to see that you are still into your hunting?

Please give my kindest regards to your Father?

The little bitch in the photo was a real nice animal,...mostly Whippet/Collie and a bit of Greyhound...

If you get a chance, borrow my 2006 book, A Moucher's Tale, (its no great shakes? ) I am not a writer,..but, there is a description of Gypsy, the Blue bitch and unfortunately, the story of her sad demise...?

Go careful now Brother, and stay safe,..all the best, OldPhil.?

See a pure whippet wouldn’t be any good for me a whippet based lurcher could be useful.. I need something that is quick off the mark and something that works well around cover.. in all size fields/terrain a dog that can take a knock or two.. I would put a good whippet dog to my bitch in a few seasons if she keeps it up ? Who knows.. it’s finding a good whippet these days would be a problem?? I like the beddy cross.. but think a first cross lacks that extra gear!
