It looks like a good day out to me. It never fails to amaze me how we feel qualified to judge others people hunting in parts of the world we've never been to and yet won't be judged ourselves. Hunters

I don't think most folks realize how a big boar can creep past you but you're right they can.Years ago some of us hog hunters had access to a 1000 acre high fence. We put a big boar in there.Years late

Big old ears and pale coats are Ideal for out there with the heat , but I have a feeling they may struggle with the weather over here... Good fun to watch and they can run abit, is it just rabbits they bush with them? With that amount in a pack you think they smash fox ? etc? ?

Nine dogs to catch a fukcing rabbit ???

That's traditionally how they hunt them. Personally I'd prefer a bobbery pack of Russells. Seen some good boar dogs that were made of podenco. I'll try and find some photos.

I thought the same. My old man works out there a lot and one of the places there is a pack of them. He speaks to the guy most mornings and he sent me some pictures. I asked if they were going on a boar hunt but the said no we are hunting rabbit. Trailer had about 15 dogs in. That’s how they do it. They all meet in a local bar later on in the day and have a decent craic.

I imagine they've developed a type of hunting to suit the ground they run and the dogs to match, they seem successful and have a bit of fun whilst doing it and demonstrates we are not alone in liking a bit of bushing.

They seem a bit more successful and better trained than this more traditional bobbery pack from Chile lol, but its more about having the crack, people are quick to judge?

The speed of the Pods seems to keep the rabbits from getting beyond the next cover where the pack comes together to block any escape so when one finds it can keep  it locked down till the rest are ready. With  terrier pack if one flushes it takes a while and some distance to pin it down.

There's podenco in there for sure and God knows what. I'll ask and get back ;)
