Great looking pup. Be interesting to see him once he's full grown and fleshed out. I love his eyes: really intelligent and he looks very sane as well.

Ah, hadn't seen that. I would say there's Collie in there too, but you never can be sure. Nice dog.

Thanks lads , used to keep lurchers/greyhounds in my teens but wasn’t sure what breed is in as he is a rescue. I see the deerhound but has more of a soft coat like a collie. He is a lovely dog but mainly a companion although he does get out at the weekend so who knows. Many thanks for all the comments much appreciated, atb.

Here is a couple more pictures.

Hi lads , Been fishing years , known plenty of lads who hunt always interested in it , got a dog two weeks a back a saluki whippet , fathers of bog warrior coursing bitch in uk , mother full whippet .
Hoping to use my dog for hunting when it gets to 10 month mark , lamping rabbits mainly . Just looking for tips on training. Never owned a dog so hard to train , still very intelligent though . Anyways , any advice you can give on teaching her to lamp , and what stuff I should invest in would be appreciated So many different lads saying work them off lead on lead you need this collar and that etc ,

Just starting to get ready for my first season with the dog and it he started crying a lot for no apparent reason which then got a lot worse very quickly. He's currently on anti inflammatories and pain killers (prescribed by vet) and just waiting to see how if his condition changes this week. If not it's €500 for a CAT scan at a specialist to see what it is.
Vet says it's either a muscular injury or a hernia (somewhere in his neck). The other day he and the whippet decided to running jump off a 3m wall for some reason which may or may not be related (was fine for a few days after).
Just wondered if anyone has had anything similar and if their dog was able to recover 100%. Absolutely gutted, not nice seeing him in the state he's in at the moment.
