a corpse would probably be no good, that well known one has a question mark over where it came from. A pic/vid that can be proven to be the uk or live pissed off cat would prove it

Stomach contents and dna will go along way to help but I no what you mean,I think the pelt you may be referring to was a rug and there were eggs of an insect found in Africa found within the fur which confirmed its country of origin my sole aim is a clear picture at the moment, but if things develop I,d love to attempt to trap one, this dude was a poor man living on the Russia/China border who decided to poach a tiger to raise a few quid to feed his family unfortunately the tiger had other plans

Seized I believe when it was discovered I would suggest it had not been in the wild for long hence it was attacking pheasant pens,  this poor lynx was blamed for around 7 sheep kills, it’s a captive bred animal never been in the wild it was free for around a week were as wild lynx average 0.4 sheep per year

The density of the populations in places like India are pretty high there is one quite well known area aarey with a known population of 41 leopards in just over 1300 acres of land, I,m looking for one or two in areas at least twice that size, and though many people doubt it  the things I,m finding indicate to me they are moving closer to the city,s in England and pets are becoming more regularly taken, we do have vet confirmed killings of dogs and a few good horse attacks also confirmed by vets, normally a sign of a young inexperienced animal as the horse is much to big to be taken but they do leave some nice rake marks down the flanks, black leopards make up around 75 percent of sightings as they were very popular as pets,15 puma and 5 percent lynx with a few oddity,s like jungle cats or hybrids making up the rest, I,ve never seen an image of a spotty leopard in England as blacks breed true to type seen a few very pixelated enlargements that people have claimed to be spotty ones but nothing that’s convinced me, back in the 70s/80s there was a wider variety but the three mentioned are all none specialising cats with a few things in common, very adaptable and very elusive being the main things, here’s a little bit of footage from the area in question

Greyman, you know I respect your views and also my own experience which I can't explain.....but when you say you are after 1 or 2 over thousands of acres, how could that be breeding/thriving Wildcats in UK? Also if there were numerous vets confirmed cases of horse attacks why wouldn't they be in the news? Maybe a vet wouldn't want to disclose identity to protect his career but a paper quoting "a leading vetinary surgeon" would be enough to sell the tabloids? You know where my head is, but the mentioning of things like above doesn't help your cause.

How many people on here have seen a Nightjar, or a pine Martin but believe what the dreaded Chris Packham shows em on Tele!

Personally I have seen all sorts but not seen a badger in the wild doing it's thing, unforced. Work that out! Doesn't mean they dont exist.

You could make all of THL members meet you tomorrow at a pub and throw a leopard corpse on a table still warm, say you shot it that morning arpund the corner and 99% would still say it was an import that had been microwaved!

The size of there territory,s is governed by suitable land females and population density, a male will travel massive distances each year were as a female will have a much smaller one and the male,s will overlap several females, a lot of information has came from trapped and tracked cats in other country,s and one known cat in the states has a territory of 400 square miles, they don’t stay still for long or they would exhaust food in an area, as we have a very low population territory,s are likely to be even bigger, the vets have confirmed several attacks to the animals owners before they have come in contact with the people I deal with, the last horse attack the owner calls the police, the police tell them to contact the rspca and so on. The authority,s don’t really no or want to be involved, one of the groups aims is to become the go to people when these reports come in, i,ve seen lots of dog attacks and a boar attack that people have claimed were cats but it’s just as important to dismiss the false as confirm the real, a few of those tv presenters have seen them but won’t go public, Ray mears being one, all the lab work is carried out by the RAU which is an agricultural university so we do have some quite well qualified vets working with us, we also get invites to other university,s to give talks and slide shows to the vet students, in general most seem pretty onboard with the whole idea,??
