How happy is your town ?

Recommended Posts

The ONS has produced a 'heat map', showing levels of happiness, anxiety and overall life satisfaction for towns and regions of the UK.

Apparently, if you live near Farnborough, you're deleriously happy, but if you live in East Northants (like me !), you're downright miserable !

So, how happy is your town ?

Well half of my town well happy , that's because there bloody east European and pleased to be here - other halfs not happy because towns half full of east Europeans lol

surely it's upto individuals to be happy or sad not your geographical location, there,s miserable b*****ds in every street in suburbia regardless of charts and graphs and these studies normally link happiness to wealth which as Mackem can probably confirm is total bollacks as some of the worlds poorest places have some of the nicest happiest people, ???

Think a lot of people measure happiness, not on quality of life, but the quantity of shit they have, or don’t have..., especially when comparing it to their peers. And I’m not immune from it. Thing is I’m at my happiest fishing a rise on a June evening, or walking a field on a blowy winters night.., and that costs very little, just time.

What I think most lack is a sense of perspective. I thank my lucky stars every day for the health of my kids and loved ones..., because I know if anything ever happened to them I’d give away every penny I’ve ever earned to put them right. Take the time to enjoy family and friends and hopefully won’t have too many regrets when the reaper comes knocking.

I was in Rushton, a typical one horse town, fair bit of game about but outside of that nothing......................

The sort of place where they introduce you to their wife, their mum and their sister..........and it's just the one woman !
